    • RE: Pfsense instead SonicWall ?

Really Ubiquiti is doing impressive hardware. Also I like very much Mikrotik, cheap, and very powerful.

Here (Spain), in my company, we used to work with Sonicwall, but we found some issues and sometimes poor customer support and change brand. Client to site and SSL VPN was not free (only included one or two licenses, it depends on model)

I think one of important questions is Sonicwall is an UTM, acts like firewall, router and also security appliance. Acts also like a powerful load balancer. This lasts parts are also very important for me.

Now we work with Cyberoam, very powerful hardware, cheaper than Sonicwall (half the prize), includes reporting (CR25 up, hard disk inside), free SSLVPN, stable, and fantastic support. We are happy with them. Now is part of Sophos company, I hope the brand will continue this good work in future, and no surprises with the new owner, Sophos.

    • RE: Ubiquiti Switches

We run HP in all customers. Very happy, easy interface and powerful. 1920's are cheap and nice for SMB.
I avoid Netgear, we sold 2 units about 6 years ago in 2 different customers, and network hangs in two each. I decided to leave them. They changed units for another model but a lot of time spent.
TPLink is beginning to work in enterprise line. What do you think about Jetstream line?

Are you using Microsoft EMET at your machines? Which antivirus is your favourite?

Here, some spanish security gurus say EMET is necessary in all cases, also with Windows 10.

    • RE: remote control software/screen sharing

Be careful, it depends where you live, some tools can't be not legal actually. Hope this resolve soon.

Logmein is fantastic, but in Europe (Union) we can't use it with tranquility cause Safe Harbor and legal problems with European Data protection laws.

Teamviewer is good and European based (Germans)

Try anydesk, very light and fast, and actually free. Also Germans.

Also MaxFocus with TakeControl is a good option if you want a more complete solution with multiple customers monitored. Based in Teamviewer.

There is another option, Ammyy Admin, based in VNC.

I used in the past SplashStop, very fast, multiple clients. Also American Company. They have a system similar to logmein.
