The team behind the open-source project ONLYOFFICE announces the release of the new solution ONLYOFFICE DocSpace allowing teams and companies to boost document collaboration with their customers, business partners, contractors and external users.
To improve document collaboration with other organizations, the ONLYOFFICE developers have enriched their product suite with a brand-new solution — ONLYOFFICE DocSpace, based on the concept of rooms – special spaces with predefined permissions.
The first version offers two room types: collaboration rooms for real-time co-authoring and custom rooms with flexible settings for any business purpose. When creating a custom room, you can grant access to content for viewing only, request comments or review, share rooms for form filling and more. This way you don’t need to share each document or folder independently. All you need to do is to set the required access permission for all the files within a single room.
ONLYOFFICE DocSpace comes with collaborative editors and viewers, making it possible to work on any content, including text documents, spreadsheets, presentations, fillable forms, e-books and PDF files. Storing and viewing multimedia files is also available.
Built with a focus on security, ONLYOFFICE DocSpace complies with the main data privacy standards, such as GDPR and HIPAA, and provides all the required features to protect sensitive information, such as the AES-256 encryption algorithm, the HTTPS protocol, JWT, activity tracking and audit reporting tools, 2FA, Single Sign-On, trusted mail domains, session lifetime, IP restriction, data backups and more.
As for now, ONLYOFFICE DocSpace is available in a secure public cloud provided by Amazon. However, it’s possible to connect various third-party cloud storage solutions, such as DropBox, Nextcloud or OneDrive, to back up data. The self-hosted version of DocSpace will follow soon.
