It took me 6 months to setup DEP and VPP. It was a pain. So many hoops to jump through. With DEP, you do not have to worry about having one master AppleID. Users can use their own. The whole point of DEP is to supervise devices better so you can clear that damn activation lock.

That is one of the main concerns here. I have had to contact former employees to login to icloud and remove the device from their account.

DEP takes care of all of that. Its great. Its a pain to enroll older devices though. In order to enroll those, the seller would need to be an authorized reseller. So if you bought devices off of say Amazon you are more then likely out of luck.

@scottalanmiller I saw that too. I am wondering if I could just delete the folder in question and see if that helps.

I tried to install the sharepoint backend app but it failed the install and now NC is unreachable. I've tried to disable the app via cli but I get this error. Thoughts? Files External is not installed. Which I though it could be but I cannot do anything wih it.

      'OCA\\Files_External\\Lib\\Config\\IBackendProvider' not found at \/var\/www\/nextcloud\/apps\/sharepoint\/lib\/Backend\/Provider.php#31"

I have cradlepoints at all my stores for backup internet and they work great. One of my stores has been having issues with Frontier so they have been running it 24/7. My ERP works just fine over the VPN.

As I continue the leap into making my home smarter, would there by any interest in some tutorials on how to do so? I will be adding more devices and automations to my setup in the coming weeks.

@travisdh1 bs=4k is read and writes up to bytes at a time. Spinning off of yours, this is how I write mine.
      sudo dd if=/home/user/Downloads/filename of=/dev/sdc bs=1M status=progress
status=progress gives you a nice little progress output without having to pipe it into anything.

@scottalanmiller I really like the debug. I can step through my code and find my errors. Instead of trying to run it and waiting for it to error out.

Corruption happens in the filesystem. The OS doesn't matter here, but the FS does. So we'd need to know what FS you are using.

      File system is XFS.

Its on my buy list. The computer hasn't been doing much so I didn't feel the need for one. I just recently decided to convert it to the home lab.

    • Fedora Powerloss

Is there any way to check Fedora for corruption, after a power outage? I was in the middle of installing some vms when I lost power. I would assume, I would need to start over with the vm installs, considering they were in the middle of installing the OS. Host machine is setup with mdadm raid.
