Flying to NYC watching CBTNuggets and YouTube using JetBlue FlyFi. The WiFi is actually working pretty good.
How many millions does that cost you?
CBTNuggets or the WiFi?
The WiFi
It's apparently free...
Oh wow, that's pretty amazing.

Our company gives us a $75 gift card to an online store that sells business attire with our logo. So instead of giving us shirts they allow us to choose from different styles.
So cool! I have one shirt with our company logo on it and I constantly get asked by the other employees on how can they get one.

RE: Dell PE 2950 with 1TB drives
@gjacobse I bought a PE 2950 for testing from Dell's refurbish ebay site 3 years ago for about 350 plus 100 shipping. It had 2 73gig SAS Drives and the rest were 500gig SAS and only 8GB RAM and No OS. It is still working great running a newly install of XenServer.

First check the IP cameras specs for PoE specifics, especially if you use Unifi ones. Their cheaper cameras are 24V Passive PoE and won't work with cisco switches and require a Passive to 802.3af Adapter. I spent about 2hrs trying figure out why the camera wasn't powering on from my 2960X switch.
Oh I did not know that about their ip cameras. I had a similar issue with their UAP device and my cisco 3560 at home. I then used the supplied adapter and it worked. I've used hikvision cameras in the past with good success so Ill probably use them again. Thank you for the heads up on those!

Though if you want a reply from sales... - Never heard back from them after you introduced me, so I went with something else.

To be honest I wouldn't have known either who to call in this particular circumstance. I don't know if I would have called 911 but I probably would've settle on someone else's expertise similarly. Good information across the board here. Thanks.
Some very good information. Our Safety Director doesn't even know who to talk to. He has suggested I talk to our local fire marshall. @scottalanmiller do you think the fire marshall will have reliable info?
That's a much better resource. He at least should have the authority to tell you that he can't tell you.
We do have a attorney on retainer but Management would like me to call the Fire Marshall first and see what he recommends and then call the attorney. Ill post my findings.

Now, in the event of MPLS failure, you have no phone service at all. This is no different than a PRI or POTS be down and making it not possible for you to dial 911.
Consult local laws for the amount of reliability you are required to have for 911.
Great point! It's only a matter of time before someone digs up the line or hits the phone pole.

You have no need to attach to a local device.
Simply update your outbound routing for calls from Georgia to spoof the CID number as your fax number whenever they dial 911. It is a very simple thing to do with Asterisk or 3CX
Hey good idea! I'm going to see if the nortel can do this.

@Dashrender so what you're saying is go with a whole new phone system ha ha
Nope - not saying that. If I was in your shoes, I'd definitely check to see if Nortel has a solution for you first. If not, then it's time for management to to help you make a lists of what your needs are and start looking for solutions (which is why you came here in the first place )
Sorry I was trying to be funny and totally blew it ha ha. I will definitely see what Nortel has to offer. If they don't have anything I know where we are headed next.
