http://speed.cloudflare.com/sexy, but I am not seeing anything to test upload.
On their blog they said there was issue giving incorrect results for very fast connections so they disabled it temporarily.

Started realizing (aside from what everyone has told me about my job) how drained I am after working, and how much I don't really enjoy this.
Start training yourself for development if your still interested in that. Actually you should always be doing that as it gives you more options if you become tired of present role and just makes you more valuable. Rarely is there a downside to learning too much.

RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
Also working on my documentation for my job for when I leave. I had to learn the environment from scratch with little help from anyone here. Next person shouldn't have to go through that. Hopefully I can move from desktop support to an admin at some point

RE: Non-IT News Thread
@popester Scott may have a different opinion but from what I have seen most schools have some sort of algorithm. Professors that I know tell me it usually favors black or female. I don't know why that is though, if its true. However I will say one of my nephews from Michigan wanted to go to UT Austin and was 4th in his senior class with a 4.0 and he was denied. He did everything right and applied a year in advance. He couldn't get in so joined the marines and just got through boot camp. I'm proud of him either way. I would have liked if he was close to me at school though so I could help look out for him. oh well.

@WrCombs Yeah that is very nice. I have cut out almost all sugar, besides occasional half sweet mocha coffee. So I'm digging that!
I reduced my sugar intake as well. For no real reason that I can think of, I just stopped eating so much sugar.
Yeah it just kind of came naturally for me too. I have never been one to crave desserts and things like that. So wasn't a big deal to cut it out. Plus I want to get back to lifting heavy again, at least my version of heavy lol, so I felt like cutting things like sugar out would help me do that. However, i may just have to buy my own home equipment. Not sure i want to go to gyms anytime soon.

Am I the only person that has ADD so bad that you start a million projects and never finish any of them? If you have overcome something like this, what was the secret?............................ SQUIRREL!!!!!
We don't ever overcome it. We just search for tools to better list it(documentation) so we can always see how much we will never finish

Thanks, fixed now. That's what you get for letting your husband get involved, no proof reading. But most of you are used to that by now from him.

Another example that I like to use is an analogy from The Bard's Tale (Electronics Arts, 1986.) IT is like the magician, Bench is like the conjurer.
If that doesn't instantly make sense, go play Bard's Tale and get back to me when you've defeat the boss of the fourth dungeon
Lol best example yet. I remember that from too long ago.

RE: If you are new drop in say hello and introduce yourself please!
Well i guess I should introduce myself since I was preemptively welcomed. I am Jason Moore and live in Waco, TX. Found this place through Spiceworks. Recognize a few names and faces from there. I enjoy reading, working out, playing with my 2 sons, eating pizza, and coffee. Enjoy reading all the comments and interesting topics from here. Nice to meet you all!

@scottalanmiller said in Where Does University Need to Focus for IT Students:
Recently on SW I was speaking with someone about how the A+ had no utility in IT work and that it was for bench. They kept saying how they took it and found it totally applicable and directly useful for all of their work. Of course, after probing, it turned out that they'd never done nor seen an IT job and worked 100% in bench doing nothing but physical desktop repairs. Literally a pure bench job, like you'd have at the corner computer shop in 1998. Not even close to IT.
If you fixed the one little piece of "how I define bench" instantly all the rest fit neatly into place and he was a perfect example of everything that I had said.
Yeah to have a proper argument we have to be on the same page lol. Otherwise its like talking to my wife..."I have no idea what your saying honey and don't even know how to respond to that."

RE: Sangoma Buys Digium
@jaredbusch Ok guess I wasn't very clear, my fault. We had a meeting with a rep i think was from Digium and she was demoing Switchvox for our phone person. Our phone person was already set on call manager from cisco because she does not want anything more automated. Most jobs here are payed based on how much a person is responsible for and does. So that really discourages a lot of people from automating things and doing things the smart way to save money.
