RE: NextCloud Automated Installation
Has there been some thread on a lesser site with people complaining NC is too hard to set up?

Installing a shitty old homelab server, can't wait til I can afford something at least more modern...this doesn't run later than ESXi 5.1u3
What about using KVM? Linux has a better support when it comes to old hardware.
I think I will once I've finished with this, just a few vSphere/vCentre things I needed to re-familiarise myself with and this is all I have at hand unfortunately.

For storage, something like DropBox would be fine, but is costly on a month to month basis. Since there is a central site here, and presumably a little hardware that the Windows system is currently running on, I think running NextCloud there makes sense. It's free and we know how dead simple it is to install. That'll replace AD and the QNAP, all at once. And it will remove the need for the VPN with it. All in one move.

User Error.
Explain how you believe this to be a User error?
I don't have to.
Please - contribute something useful or don't. Since it has affected more that one person - it is not a user error.
I did contribute something useful. Just because you disagree does not negate that. Hell jsut because I am wrong does not negate that.
What use did it provide in finding the solution? What else could useful mean on a thread looking for an answer.
Seeing this on Chrome and FF now on Fedora 27. Also can't reply or post (on phone atm) as the text box eats the screen with no way out.

Guy got a Dell SCv3020 controller as an iSCSI SAN for his XenServer 7.1 install. SAN goes down constantly and Dell can't figure out what is wrong with it.
God I wish we could still have links to ridicule these design choices. .
It's not about ridiculing them. It's about documenting how often bad things happen. Vendors constantly claim that if we don't collect this data, it didn't happen. That's why we have this thread. Showing that not following best practices really does lead to disaster, in the real world, at rates that people claim are impossible.
So many SAN vendors have called us liars for saying that SANs fail. They claim that that is impossible. Yet it's a constant source of evidence.
Glad you said that, certainly seems to be about the ridiculing for a few on here.

@hobbit666 Thanks, you've decided my lunch for me. To the chippy!

RE: Of course you've heard of WinDirStat, how about Wiztree?
Scans faster than WinDirStat and Spacesniffer, and it is more accurate.
-
RE: Finding hidden files on Windows
WizTree will always be more accurate than those 2 due to how it discovers files, I can't remember enough to explain. It's also incredible quick at scanning compared to those 2 so always my preferred.

Normally they hound me with Wix and Grammarly ads, both of which are things I detest. Either they have absolutely no ads that they think I'd actually watch; or they are just lost.
Or perhaps you're not using the right ad blocker...
You cannot block ads inside youtube videos.
The ones that run before the video? You can.
how?
Adblocker? Privacy Badger?
They block IN VIDEO ads?
The ones that play before your video, yes. I used to use a Chrome extension for it, can find with a quick Google.
Can you block it without Chrome? YouTube doesn't work well on Chrome here, it spikes the CPU and freezes the machine. Works fine on FF.
I think there's an extension for FF too, just haven't looked since redoing my system.

RE: Ruckus wireless
We used to use it in all our schools 'til we moved to Ubiquiti.
Performance is great, I'm not keen on the management interface but it's still very usable.
We didn't do any config more than creating the wireless network and plugging them in, apart from a few mesh setups. But we had many very high traffic wireless networks running perfectly happy for years completely untouched anyway.

Does Windows Debugger give more info than that? Should also tell you what driver caused the crash

Really like Fedora with KDE Plasma atm. Trying Deepin on my laptop too
Deepin is surprisingly good.
Love the look of it and my touchpad feels pretty good on it. Nextcloud client isn't proving very stable atm though, having to configure it again. Followed your guide setting that up (top result on Google!)
