I been working with Proxmox 3 years now and it is solid OS. I like it a lot been running some basic VMs on it not to fancy works like a charm.

I never ever liked windows update service. In one hand they fix some issues but in the other hand they create more unnecessary issues. I am glad you were able to isolate the update and made it work congrats.

sounds like comcast has issue with their equipment and services. Maybe is comcast hands off at the local level that need changing.

In my honest opinion in depends on the end user. Like i know VM ware does somethings great and other not so much. KVM is the same way as well it all depends what are you most comfortable using. I have dealt with VMware and i have to say it is a little buggy at times. KVM for me is the one i would choose it is so much easier to deal wit as a end user.

Like many mentioned before WiFi is the more economical choice. Though if it is a must you can also try Ericson as well.

IE was to slow and not was not compiled well IMHO. MS is taking their sweet time killing it off.

I am using a promox server with the following raid-RAIDZ-3. A variation on RAID-5, triple parity. Requires at least 5 disks. It works awesome for my VMs. It protects me fully if one disk goes down.

Saves money on a big desk housing the unit. All you need it for the monitors and keyboard. That is really innovative.

I been hearing issues with Azure as of late. Any other platform that can be used other than Azure. Is Proxmox a viable candidate?
