      Hi everybody

i forget my DVR admin password, i don't know how to reset the DVR or how to recover my password
there is no reset button in the DVR
Note : i already tried to remove the battery and turn on the DVR but the DVR still keeping the old password, imagine that turn on the DVR without battery for one day and turn it off for one day but still keeping the old password, here is a snapshot of its motherboard

I've learned also that it perform block level backup, can I backup my files in daily basis incrementally to a NAS???

Which what tool? Nearly all backup is done to NAS and nearly all is incremental. As a general question, yes of course. But specifically we would need to know what tool you are going to use. You've already stated in the original post and reiterated again and again that Windows cannot do incremental to a NAS, so we have to assume you are asking about something else.... but what? Veeam? If so, yes.

Yes Dear Scott, i will use Veeam, i'm really pleased with it, it is free and can do daily incremental backup of my volumes to a NAS and what really impressed me is that i can even do incremental daily system image backup, something which is really great and also i can create a veeam USB recovery media in case of disaster and boot from USB and recover my system from NAS (which have many system restore point)
WOW that is really awesome, thank you for advising me to change my WBS, it is very very limited comparing to Veeam
i never imagine that i can find such powerful backup solution like veeam for free, wow

wow i feel confortable now, can you imagine that for 2 years now i didn't have any backup plan except for one (daily incremental data backup in the same HD : D---> E)
now i can store my data in a NAS far away from my file server and furthermore i can even store daily incremental system images of my server, wow very good improvement

      Entire Computer

Ok, is this mode backup everything including the data in all partitions ??? then the size must be very heavy

having only one schedule backup of entire computer allows us to restore system image and data in the same time

Yes, but to do a FULL or Bare Metal restore, you will need to make the Recovery ISO and burn it to a USB or DVD that will boot your computer and connect you to the storage where your backups are located (IE: If they are on a NAS somewhere).

(Veeam offers to do this for you at the end of the installation or the first time you run it, if I remember right)

yes you are right, i already created a veeam USB recovery media

Just an FYI: formatting would always erase things, but just erasing does not format. Formatting is a specific filesystem operation. So I would use erase in a discussion like this rather than format. Because technically it erases but does not format.

yeah, it is correct, i should use erase rather than format

The VEP recovery media should work for any device. It should be generic.

No it is not. It builds a unique image for each machine that includes that machines base hardware to ensure networking support when the ISO boots.

If all of your machines are the same or similar hardware, then you should be able to use a single ISO easily.

i had a feeling that the recovery media is unique per machine because during the creation it tells you that the drivers will be included in the bootable USB
so in this case i need USB per machine

      Hi guys

i wonder if putting stand by computers (they are off) in a cold server room (17 C) can damage them or not ??
