What type of headset is this? It may need a firmware update:
      http://www.plantronics.com/us/support/myheadset/updater/

Once you do that, you'll want to rebuild the bluetooth stack. Remove the device from your phone, power off, power back on, re-pair the bluetooth. That will rebuild the bluetooth stack and is best practice after updating firmware. (I spend A LOT of time on PLT's forums).

Also, I don't recommend the M series. They are the stupid cousin of the Voyager series.

Dealt with what must be the most helpful CenturyLink tech I've ever worked with. @Katie, can you message me information on someone I can reach out to for the call center for the overnight shift in LA for a manager so that I can pass along my regards? Thanks!

MySQL seems to be completely hosed. I'm going to have to rebuild the server, as restoring from backups even a week ago, even at the VM level, is not working!

VSS is actually the Windows "late to the party" copy of LVM on Linux. Linux was doing this and it was a standard "ha ha, Windows lacks this feature" that forced them to add VSS into Windows. LVM can do snapshots.

On FreeBSD and Solaris you can do the same thing with ZFS.

So how would I do what I am trying to do here?

Same as VSS. Set it up to run BEFORE you overwrite stuff. Like any backup or snapshot, you can't turn it on later and magically get stuff that hasn't been backed up or snapshotted yet.

I know that principle. Is it on by default? How do you enable it so I can prevent this in the future?

Yes, Pertino can go directly on the "new" installs of UEB. Not if you have an old CentOS 5 one. You can always reinstall now.

True enough. I might have to do that.

Fair enough. I know I'm nowhere near @art_of_shred or @FiyaFly's level but still.

My ESXi is licensed and I use it without issue. Also, it will back up both physical and virtual machines with the free UEB.

But that does mean Unitrends really allows it to be used in that manner. @KatieUnitrends should know.

My understanding was the Spiceheads free UEB was meant to be just that, free. It limits how many clients you can use for it though, whereas the real UEBs and appliances limit it to what storage you have, not by clients.
