Dear Team,

My one of the customer using vSphere Environments. They have 6 hosts in VMware cluster. They are running "88" Virtual machines.
I analyzed the Virtual infra, they are allocating vCPUs more than physical resources and also I have doubt, if one VMware host goes to downstate means,
what will be happening on VMware cluster??... I will try to analyze virtual hardware resources usage and all information I noted down here.
kindly guide me, how to shaping, sizing resources capacity and safe running Virtual infra in unplanned downtimes. Provide your suggestion.

single host hardware resources :

Logical Processors: 32 [ with enabling Hyperthreading ]
CPU speed : 3.20 GHz [ 16 Cores * 3.20Ghz is 51.2 GHz].
Memory : 192 GB

Total No. of the host is "6" with same hardware resources on VMware cluster.

Total VMware cluster Resources in "6" host server:

Total vCPU is 32 * 6 : 192
Total CPU capacity : 306.82 GHz [ 51.2 * 6 * 3.20 GHz ]
Total Memory Capacity : 192GB * 6 : 1.12 TB
Total No. of Power ON VMs running is "88" .

Right now, Total CPUs and Memory resources allocated on running Virtual Machines is

vCPU = 380 vCPU [ Total logical processors is 32*6 : 192 vCPUs]

Memory = 943596GB [ 921.480 TB ]

Based on all your discussion, more vCPU assigned than physical cores is not an issue. It's pretty ok. In my customer, sometimes facing more CPU usage caused slow performance. How to provide the solutions for this issue? CPU contention is not consistent. In both host server, they are running 12 VMs with 125vCPUs instead of 96vCPUs.

Dear Team,

In our customer has two vMware host server with cluster, HA. each host have 48 vcPU.
But, they are assigned total vCPU to all virtual machines is 61vCPUs on one VMware ESXi server and 64vCPUs on second VMware ESXi server. it is best praticies ? it will cause any CPU Contention in future ? Please guide me , how to size the VMware infra

Both DC and DR has dedicated vcenter server in existing setup. We need to manage both DC and DR VM on DC vcenter console ???

My customer has VMware Infra in both DC and DR location. In each location have specific vcenter server to manage the virtual infra. A customer asked to monitor both DC and DR Virtual machines in single vcenter server console on DC location. is it possible? , if possible what are the requirement need to configure on vcenter ?? kindly provide support.

yes, will plan to install 6.5U1 and have Vcenter appliance server, not windows vcenter.

I planned to upgrading ESXi 5.5 to ESXi 6.5 . They were 4 hosts in single vcenter server. It might be 90 VMs are running. so, what are the steps, i follow one by one process. kindly share the procedure or any document for upgrading ESXi latest.
