He thinks it makes him look smarter if he has a problem with Linux, because Linux is "hard". Windows is generally accepted as "easy".

RE: Lego Fusion
I don't think it's meant to be a minecraft replacement, exactly. I also think, despite the age range listed, that this seems more for younger children, but it's hard to tell without trying it out. I definitely think we'll be getting a set for Liesl. We love all things Lego around here.

RE: Edx Free Linux Training
I took some free linux training from HP once upon a time. Not sure if they still do it, though.

RE: My new laptop has arrived!
@thecreativeone91 Yup, my 15" is just too heavy, and gets too hot for comfortable couch use. This laptop has a vent on the bottom, but because it's small, I'm able to balance it on one leg, and leave the vent uncovered.

@StrongBad Every time I see your name I start singing "C'mon evveybody it's Labo Day!" That is all.

new laptop keeps bringing down our network
My new little laptop is great, except for one little detail: every time I use a browser, it brings down our whole network. Help!

RE: Kinda Wish I Was in Austin...
@SarawithanH I would say that your Dad's reaction is because he's a planner, like me. It took me a long time to understand that aspect of Scott's personality, and it took him even longer to understand my need to plan!

RE: new laptop keeps bringing down our network
@JaredBusch Good ideas. The testing is going to have to wait until Scott is home, because I don't have an ethernet cable to use on the main floor, and I don't like being down in the basement at night when he's not home, cause the dark is creepy. I've never tried plugging this laptop in so I should probably start being scientific and techie about this whole troubleshooting thing.

RE: Starting the IT Clock
That's a good one. This is something that tell homeschooling parents, as well as teens that express an interest in IT.

RE: What are you listening to? What would you recommend?
@Joyfano Those are good for when I can't fall asleep and need something relaxing. Not so good for staying awake at work, though!

RE: AetherStore
Cool idea, cool bunch of guys, now that I'm home and have time, I want to learn more about the product. I would say that Aetherstore made one of the best showings at the conference and parties and having the co-founders and developers there to answer questions and explain the concept was an excellent idea.

RE: What is your greatest weakness?
I've always felt that's a totally lame and cliche interview question. I make it a point to make an interview more like a conversation. It's much easier to get a feel for personality when the interviewee is at ease. If you must ask questions, ask something like "if you had a super power what would it be" or something else unexpected. It's all I can do not to roll my eyes at people asking that lame-o question, even if those people happen to be interviewing me!

RE: Winbook Tw801 - Maybe The Best "Cheap" Windows Tablet?
It's definitely a nice size, just wondering about the usefulness of something that size to work from. Our iPads are mostly for the kids, and Apple has the best kids apps, as far as we've seen, so it's not a direct competitor to replace our iPad 1st gen, for instance, which I feel is on its last legs due to constant kid abuse.

@MrWright4hire lmao, thanks for the explanation
