I tried to force the external TIme source by GPO following http://www.sysadminlab.net/windows/configuring-ntp-on-windows-using-gpo
Same result, PDC is still using Local CMOS Clock. I will try again tomorrow and report back.

@travisdh1
Thank you. I did that initially and it doesn't work.
I am trying to update the GPO for the PDC emulator -
Proper AD PDC Time confirguration in Hyper-V?
So I am configuring my first fully virtualized Active Directory using Hyper-V ith 2 VMs dedicated to AD using Windows 2016.
Everything is fine except that I am not sure about what is the proper configuration for Time synchronization.There are lots of conflicted information on Internet, in the end I tried to use
https://www.veeam.com/blog/time-synchronization-all-virtual-environment-guide.html and
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/816042/how-to-configure-an-authoritative-time-server-in-windows-serverbut w32tm /query /source doesn't return my external source. It returns "local CMOS Clock"
Is there a reliable guide out there for this? -

What is the pricing like on NinjaRmm?
Varies, you have to negotiate. If you look at Reddit, you will find people saying that they pay as low as $1 to as high as $4 per end point depending on their sales person and negotiation tactics.
And volume. Higher volume better pricing leverage

RE: RMM Ideas for MSP
We are using Ninja RMM. Have tried Kaseya, Solarwinds MSP, Continuum, Naverisk and Pluseway. Everyone has its ups and downs; my best advice would be to "try them all and use the least bad of them".
Were about to move from Ninja to to Kaseya thru Techs Together (great people there) but Ninja works and they have been improving the platform. -
RE: Web UI design tools
@jmoore
I am not a designer, I am a programmer. But when doing web based software I like to see what I am coding while I am coding it. Pinegrow is wonderful for that. You have access to the full power of HTML & CSS
And it is great if you use Bootstrap or Foundation because it has full support for them. I prefer Bulma, and it works well with it because Pinegrow is a general purpose tool.
I will stop now, as I feel like I am selling something -

We are developing an Student information System for a customer. Pinegrow + VS Code are a nice combination -
RE: Web UI design tools
@Pete-S
I'm not sure of the generated CSS quality. I mean, tools can generate CSS but it is usually "machine CSS", not something intended to be easily modifiable by the developer.
I'm playing with Pinegrow, working directly on the HTML/CSS. I like it a lot. -
RE: Building a Mail Server
@Curtis
Understood, thank you. I only use Ubuntu when it is the only or the best option, like for Xen Orchestra.
Once I get some free time I will try Alpine -
RE: Building a Mail Server
@Curtis
What is your host OS? I am using CentOS and Debian in production, but about to test Alpine -

Another day, another security breach/problem.
Note to myself: Am I getting used to that? -
RE: Building a Mail Server
@scottalanmiller
https://iroute.io is another brand of the owner of MXroute . They use https://crossbox.io/ as a email web client and MailChannels to send emails.I haven't used MXroute nor iRoute but I know people that is a customer of the former (small amount of mailboxes) and they say that the service and support are great.
Take it with a grain of salt. -

MailCow is what we are looking at. @Alex-Sage recommends it. It looks promising.
And I love it. Have been using it for some time
There are SOGo extensions for thunderbird and Lightning for native calendar and address books. I do not know of a native solution for integration with Outlook -

Installing crappy cPanel is like buying a sports car and putting a boot on the wheel. There's literally no good reason what so ever to have it, it's slow as hell and eats resources like crazy. Just learn a few commands and you'll be fine.
That is wisdom. It strikes me that the OP said the client needs cPanel.

RE: LAMP on the cheap, or how to optimize ?
@Emad-R said in LAMP on the cheap, or how to optimize ?:
the user needs Cpanel and WHM, and those 2 are bulk of wasted resources, especially since they utilize and download there own PHP, I am running on ea-php 5
I don't think that will work well. If cPanel is needed then a VPS like DigitalOcean $10/mo droplet should be considered minimum.
You may try disabling the big memory hogs, at least:
ClamAV
Solr

What is the typical Veeam backup server OS recommendation for SMB then? Should I be looking at going with a Windows 2016 OS instead?
We always use Windows Server 2016 with ReFS. Another option recommended by Veeam is Windows 10 Pro for Workstations, especially if you are going to use ReFS
Problem is "recommended by Veeam" doesn't mean that you can get a license to do it. That's only for people where MS EULA doesn't apply.
...Just found this on http://www.veeam.com/veeam_backup_9_5_whats_new_wn.pdf (page 5)
Instant recovery of agent backups to a Hyper-V VM now support Windows 10 Hyper-V as the target hypervisor. This is particularly useful for managed service providers by enabling them to create low-cost all-in-one BCDR appliances to deploy at their clients’ premises.
It seems like Veeam doesn't care about MS EULA. Or perhaps I'm missing an exception in the EULA

disable xml-rpc
I protect xml-rpc and Admin from brute force attacks with some ConfigServer Security & Firewall (CSF) custom rules. Basically I instruct CSF/LFD to look for POST requests to xmlrpc.php & wp-login.php in the webserver log and block the source IPs after x failed attempts

Not a recommendation, just what I normally use:
KeyCDN Cache Enabler + Autoptimize. Or LSCache when using LiteSpeed/OpenLiteSpeed -

Lead Dev on Wordpress explains their logic on this: https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/17048
I don't want to go on on this: It is the way it is and I am paid to work with that; that's enough for me.
I have solved that in a different way in different web systems, it is not the only or perhaps the best way. That's probably why I don't like it.
I just think that the lead developer answer summarizes everything:That said, this is a deliberate design decision. We don't have any plans to change this.
On the other hand: cPanel is nice and awful. I don't find it hard but I think it is bloated. I prefer Linux without a Control Panel. But cPanel is used a lot... and I am paid to manage it
The really important thing now is: I need to rest a little bit. Bye!
