RE: CloudProposted in IT Discussion
I went ahead and "migrated" one of my boxes to CloudPro.
Good: I have resources available
Bad: I'm unable to create a new server using the CloudPro option
Ugly: Cloudatcost
-
RE: CloudProposted in IT Discussion
Well, it allows you to migrate the resources... but you'll lose everything on the existing server.

RE: CloudProposted in IT Discussion
Guess this is their way to appease some folks and avoid a mass exodus and chargebacks / paypal disputes.

Where was the email when the outage started?
Maybe they host their own email server. That would certainly explain the long delay.

Just received the following via email:
Cloud At Cost System Message: 04/30/2015 05:06 PM We are having an issue accessing some of our network subnets due to a local car crash that caused fiber to be cut. Network Update: Our fiber technicians have confirmed that the target for full restoration is 8 PM EST today. We will provide updates as we get them. -

Panel is back up... but still no access to my boxes.

RE: What do you think of Webrootposted in IT Discussion
We switched to WR from Vipre a while back. Overall, I'm happy with the product. There are a few things that take getting adjusted to or that need addressing in the product:
-
Your actions in the web panel don't occur immediately. Depending on your settings, it can take up to 24 hours for the command to be processed by the endpoint.
-
Everything is MD5 based. You can't exclude by directory or filename. If the MD5 changes, then you have to "redo" your earlier changes to allow the new version of the app.
-
Identity Shield modifications (allow / deny an app) occur at the endpoint level rather than the policy level.

Both of my boxes are not accessible. Also can't load the panel.

RE: Domain Registrar choicesposted in IT Discussion
They stopped offering discount coupons a while back. If you have enough domains then you can save money with their discount club.

RE: CloudatCost IOWait Issuesposted in IT Discussion
Seems to be pretty snappy this morning. Anyone still seeing I/O issues?

RE: CloudatCost IOWait Issuesposted in IT Discussion
FWIW, not seeing this on either of my boxes, which have little or no traffic.

RE: Gmail, How Do You Run New Filters Against Existing Inboxposted in IT Discussion
@scottalanmiller Not seeing any issues here with gmail. Also, you can filter incoming emails. Look under Setting > Filters, and use the option to Skip the Inbox (Archive it).
