Tomorrow seemed quite far away in September (proposal date). Wedding ceremony is 24 hours and 30 minutes away
Congratulations!

Who left the door unlocked for Monday to sneak in again... ugh.. Not directly ready to be here - and yet - here I am.
Ah well - At least the sun is out (currently)...
AAHHHHh Bright Yellow Face, it burns us!

Such a neat looking desk. I'm too ashamed of the disaster area of mine to actually post anything.

Making rookie mistakes even though I know better
Sadly it is a thing that happens. It's how you deal with it after the fact and what you learn from it.
In theory though - the user should not have lost any mail - or at most - a few hours worth... In theory..
Absolutely - I owned up to my mistake, fixed it, and apologized to the user. Luckily, this was a user with a far lower volume of mail than say, our President & CEO. In this case, nothing appears to have been lost, except for possibly a couple of internal messages that may not have been delivered between yesterday and today. I also learned that before hitting the save changes button when modifying licenses, I really need to take 10 seconds to verify that the correct apps are selected in addition to the correct licenses. Much quicker and easier to do that than to deal with recovering a mailbox later while trying to keep the user calm and assured that they haven't lost everything.
After it was all said and done, the user didn't scream at me and was happy, so this turned out to be a minor inconvenience to them instead of a major issue.
The important thing is that when you own up to your mistakes, you do NOT let the user berate you, no matter what the mistake.
I had to shut somebody up. They were not quite a C-Level exec at my last job because a GPO was eating people's files. We knew the problem, and made the campus aware of it, and then set about fixing it.
This guy wanted to yell at me the whole time I was in his office about how much money I was costing the campus, as if the problem was only mine. I finally got fed up and told him that I could work on his computer here and fix it without him yelling at me, or I could take it back to the office and fix it later that day. He shut up pretty quick.
I told my boss about this guy, and it turned out there had already been a number of complaints against them. He was gone a few months later.

What's your YouTube channel?
The band is State of Unrest. Still building the page, I'll post it here when published.
YouTube page is live! The "videos" are just a pic of the album cover.

2 complete albums are up, just need a CD of the 1st one.
Got a nice driving beat to the first song. I'll let this keep me awake for the day. Thanks for the post!

About to get outside and do some filming. It's a "gorgeous" day. I could use some not gorgeous days for a change, though.
Wanna trade? 54F here, been raining since midnight, gonna keep on raining...
Man, 54F and rain sounds like nice. I just went to my salsa class and it is 96F and humid.
One day it's 70 and sunny and in thirty-six hours it snowed...
Are you sure you don't mean 36 minutes later it snowed ?
I picked up the Final Fantasy 7 Remaake & it's first DLC. It was "on sale", but I went ahead and bit the bullet anyway.
It's definitely a retelling of the game, keeping some of the more important high points. I'm not that far into it yet. But it is definitely worth the money if you're a fan like I am.

I haven't picked it up yet because I just don't have time to play it. I'll be keeping my eye out for when all 3 episodes are released so I can get the whole story-line instead of just 1/3 at a time as well.
I generally don't have time to play games too much, except in short 30 minutes spurts here and there. The fact that you CAN PAUSE cut scenes is huge for me since I'm primarily a PC gamer and there's a sad number of games that don't give that option.
The other thing I like is that in the remake, you can save pretty much anywhere at any time, so that helps too.

Goooooood morning everyone!
a few sips of coffee....
Few CUPS here.
I just finished cup 6, and it's only 11:30 am here.
In other news, I'm officially off of google for my "personal" email domain... now I just need to transfer all the messages I want to keep and turn Google off.
Lots of new jobs happening around here!
I just found out I may get a promotion. I think there's some other folks on the team that are trying out for it as well. I hope they decide by making us do a battle royale. I'd win, for sure.

I just got my 1st coffee... same feelings about the pines. But at least it's been cooler weather. I turned my heat on for a few minutes this morning.
Nice! It's still warm enough to need a jacket in the morning and leave it behind by lunch.

@nadnerB Works well, but for crispy shell applications, I like to use a shock mount. Best way to listen to any taco recording? These:
Tacobout a neat idea.
@nadnerB That's... a surprisingly decent analogy, lol. Not technically accurate, lol, but for a layperson / non technical person, I'd give that a B+.

playing with pfsense software router in Oracle VirtualBox.
After you get done poking around with pfSense, check out OPNsense -- it's pretty good too.
Same kind of thing? software router?
opensource?
I could just google it but I'm kind of lazy. lol
Yeah, pretty much same vein as pfSense. The last time I compared the two, OPNsense looked and felt a little more modern.
I wouldn't be afraid to use either of them for stuff.

Just making sure you understand that knowing every software firewall on the market inside and out won't give you any soft of advantage of someone that just took a nap instead.
He does have a great point here. Knowing concepts is better than being tied to a particular vendor. That being said, I just woke up from my nap and now want more coffee.
