It appears that the shortcut is coming from a file server as opposed to the local machine. You'll likely need to add the File Server into the Trusted Sites in Internet Explorer or Internet Options, and that warning should go away.

I almost never spend. I basically accumulate wealth in RPGs forever. I always feel like I'll need it somewhere. Never do.
so much this. Every time. "That'd be useful...but what if I need it for something else BETTER? Hmmmm....better save it..."
I'm not ashamed to admit that if Money is not important to game play, I will gladly skip most things that could make the game easier, etc.
I'm also not ashamed to admit that if the game requires a crap ton of grinding to get money for ridiculously priced items, I will use money cheats to speed things up. I'm not there to spend 50 hours grinding so I can get to the next bit of the story!
[Note: This is for single player games only.]

@scottalanmiller Yea, happy to be here! Mango Lassi's been something I've known about for a while, but just like some very technical subreddits I tried to stay away as my expertise is more cat memes and silly videos - but I'm here now, so feel free to ping me when/if you got a Backblaze question! I'll do my best
You'll find a good mix of cat memes and silly videos here!
Some will nearly bring the internet to it's knees.
Must. Resist. Joke.
Why? We're all professionals here. *snicker, snicker

And who exactly is still using Yahoo?
Even Yahoo doesn't use Yahoo.
Not like they could. It's like Apple doesnt run on Apple....because they don't make servers so they can't.
Now what was shocking was that IBM didn't run on IBM.
What does IBM use then?
Lenovo? Ha ha.

RE: Windows Server 2012 Ping ISsue
If you are able to remote desktop into the machine, but unable to ping it, the issue is probably the Windows Firewall doesn't have an allow rule for ICMP (Ping) network packets.

I might actually have to get one of those (would make @art_of_shred roll his eyes).
Do it better... Get one in Minion Yellow!

I know that I've toured Houston DCs that were designed for at least ten feet of water on the production floor.
I take it everything is made water resistant somehow?
Or just raised to 11 feet off the floor? lol.

I watch Netflix from a BlueRay player, have the TV, Reciever, and Harmony remotes all hooked up to the network
I'm a bit confused - While I agree that these things might all have security flaws in them, I'm not sure how one would exploit them short of you installing a hacked update, and assuming you're behind a firewall.
As I understand it, the IoT things that are being taken control of either a) are put directly on the internet with no firewall (crazy!) or b) have a port opened on the firewall for remote access/control of those devices and they've been hacked.
As part of b) they could be using UPNP or something to tell the router "Make me available to the world!"

So Glad I'm back in central Georgia... Not much chance of us getting snow here very often... that, and folks down here don't know what to do when that white stuff starts falling.
I think what you're supposed to do is slide off the road because you're traveling 75mph in a 35. . .
Strike that... reverse it. If anything is falling around here, people are doing 35 mph in a 75 mph zone. I kid you not... Although many of them do, indeed, go sliding off the road anyway, lol.

RE: Server will not shut down
Well, it turns out the fix was much easier than I anticipated. Not 100% certain, but we have at least one VM that is now cooperating with us, whereas before we had none.
It's one of those I feel stupid things... Both NICs are on the same subnet. So all we had to do was manually set the Metric for each interface, and then everything magically started working.

RE: Random Thread - Anything Goes
Finally! I can freely flail the f-word about for whatever folly I may find. Forever my tongue has fought the good fight to save face and not drop the f-bomb for fear of retribution. <insert short laugh here>. I now fear that since freedom abounds, we can simply say f-word it, and let such fearfulness of fortitudes be lost as the shackles fall away.
