Just wanted to say goodbye, because as of Friday I'll no longer be with Colocation America.

Got a new job as a social analyst for an entertainment creative agency here in LA--the company did the social for Spiderman: Homecoming, BoJack Horseman Season 3, Death Note, and more.

Just wanted to say it was great getting to interact and be goofy with you all on here and at MangoCon--you guys and gals were always a blast to chat with.

We unloaded their massive haul of servers and other assorted hardware goodies, gave them a tour of the facility, and then they were off. Something about another night in Vegas....

There have been some questions regarding the status of the Lab. First off, I want to personally apologize for the wait--we were looking to have everything up and running by the beginning of June, but as many of you may have experienced in your own IT adventures, things can and often will go wrong.

There was a missing part that needed to be ordered (that has since been delivered and installed), and we are currently working on resolving a few networking issues that-- as far as I know (in my limited technical knowledge, maybe @scottalanmiller or @art_of_shred can shed additional light)--is the only thing that stands in the way of the Lab getting up and rocking. Our IT staff is working to get that resolved ASAP so you can get some of that sweet sweet Lab action.

So yeah, it's on us, and we take full responsibility for the wait. Trust me, I'm not happy either. Please address all questions and criticisms to our mascot Coly. Or me. I'm here too.

Hey everyone!

I wanted to let you know about the return of our STEM Innovation Grant, where we award upwards of $7,500 to STEM-focused youth programs. These programs are essential to developing interest and skills that are needed to pursue a career in a STEM-related field.

This is the brainchild of our very own @SamieWalters, so show her some love.

If you know of any youth programs that could benefit from this grant, please don't hesitate to pass this along.

Our past awardees include a bioscience education program that allows for amazing hands-on learning, a program designed to get middle and high school aged girls interested in STEM (including an awesome hackathon), and a program that takes 4th and 5th graders sailing to teach them about oceanic ecology and environmental effects.

@FATeknollogee We're super excited to be partnering with NTG for this Lab! We're providing some top notch data center space in our Quinby Building facility--a full-rack (42u) high density cabinet (10KVA), an IP range, and a 100 MB/s Dedicated GigE port, with 30TB bandwidth.

And, @Minion-Queen and @art_of_shred will be joined by our mascot Coly for their road trip, so they won't be totally alone.

If by "beaker", you mean a clear, glass cylinder that I put a liquid in the bottom of, add other ingredients, and then smoke comes out due to a reaction between two ingredients...then yeah, beakers.

We all know about Microsoft's proposed undersea data center, but now large-scale data and cloud companies are laying their own undersea cables to gain access in places that wouldn't have high-speed access points.

A proposed deal would put cable in between Hong Kong and Guam, making 100 gigabit the standard in the Pacific, and giving data centers and businesses alike the chance to take advantage and offer greater connectivity for SMBs.
