It is mind-boggling that in this day & age people still use these passwords. Thankfully, software vendors are starting to include password "blacklists" of prohibited words & variations of words.
Greetings all! This being my first post on MangoLassi, I wanted to first introduce myself and my company, and give you an overview of some of our offerings. My name is Brad Wyro & I've been with Alt-N Technologies for almost 9 years. I handle all webinars, social media, training, eLearning, and content for most of our print collateral assets.
The MDaemon Messaging Server was created about two decades ago to address the needs of small-to-medium businesses who wanted an on-premise mail server but did not want the expense and overhead of managing a Microsoft Exchange Server. As many of you know, the mail server landscape has gotten much more competitive over the years, and software vendors and mail services providers have been adding many new features over the years to remain competitive.
Today, we offer cloud-based offerings such as MDaemon Private Cloud and WorldClient Private Email for businesses that want a fully featured messaging solution (including webmail, mobile device support, calendars, contacts, shared documents, tasks and notes) without the added responsibility of hands-on mail server administration.
I look forward to having a dialog with fellow community members. If you have questions, or if you'd like a personal demo of MDaemon, please feel free to contact me directly!
Brad
This is currently not possible, however, this functionality is on our wish list & our developers are aware of it. You can submit feature requests & check the status of existing requests via the Alt-N Idea Engine, located here:

Ah yes. "Click here" and a sense of urgency. Definitely smells like a scam.

MDaemon's Queue & Statistics Manager makes it easy to find email messages, and track & troubleshoot their delivery. No need to scour hundreds of lines of logs using a text editor. Queue & Statistics Manager itemizes email delivery sessions in the logs for easy review & troubleshooting. Learn more in this blog post & tutorial video.
I don't know why I didn't think of this right away. Must not have had my morning coffee yet, but MDaemon has a feature that allows you to specify which hosts or IPs require the use of STARTTLS. It's located under Security | Security Settings | SSL & TLS | STARTTLS Required List.
@scottalanmiller Not yet, but I believe this functionality may be in the works for a later release.
As mentioned in Item 2 of your last post, I was also going to mention using wildcard entries on the STARTTLS Required List. I would recommend testing this first, however, and review your MDaemon logs to ensure that the connection is using TLS.
Thanks for sharing this, Scott. Threats are always evolving!
Yup I woke up to the news of it this morning as people were still trying to determine if it's a new outbreak or a variant of an existing one. I just wrote a blog post on my company's site about how users and administrators can protect themselves.
