Is it on a role or on a roll? I honestly never am sure.
Roll. Role is as in role playing.
So picture in my head "on a bun" to remember correctly. Like a person laying in a hot dog bun.
I'd think this is fitting imagery...

Guys, the motivation here isn't to heal it's to get away with eating as much ice cream and pudding as I can
You'll regret that quickly.
I guess either you get it or you don't. @scottalanmiller is clearly in the latter camp.

Another great 1 liner from this guy: "I don't understand why this is so difficult??!!" Well, you've been in the office for 3 hours since Monday. Yeah, I would say it's pretty difficult to fix something when you're not here. Never mind the fact that over 20" of snow had fallen the past 3 days.
No work on Monday, now this dude is sick and I had to reschedule the keyboard replacement until Thursday. Bet he'll use THAT against me too.
Sounds like the beginning of a Doughnut_Destroyer rant from that spicy place.
What did he rant about?
You don't remember those epic rants of his in the hidden spicy pepper group?
SHHH!!! It's supposed to be a secret group!

We had a crazy temperature swing 16 this morning it is now 50. Sitting on my porch in a short sleeve and thinking about putting shorts on instead of sweatpants.
I thought you were sledding this weekend?
It hit 62 here today and the little snow we had is all but gone. We went cruising in the Bumblebee with the sunroof wide open. Great weather today!

Heading out to fine some pizza.
Pizza behaving badly?
@scottalanmiller said in What did you have for lunch or dinner today?:
Seriously??? Your wife is in Florida while you are in Italy, and she has to photograph her lunch and send it to you so that you can post a picture of your wife's lunch on the internet? You, sir, need to find yourself a more useful hobby.

Drive it like you stole it... err... never mind.
I've recently seen a bit of this company around, as they make guitar and bass amps. Should they be referred to as "FAT" or "Fuchs"? I haven't seen any of their products in any sweepstakes or giveaways thus far, so I'm pretty sure you have to pay for their stuff if you want any, since there seem to have been literally zero Fuchs given at this point. But, I digress...

Well crap. That question no longer applies.
The wild part of it is that they could have chosen any other actor, yet they chose Ben Affleck, to be the "other" choice. Did they know something??
I'm sticking with MangoCon. It's the name that's been cycling from the beginning, and it's catchy. If you're worried about people's connotation that it has something to do with fruit, take a gander at "Spice World" as a name. Does it have to do with the Spice Girls, or is it about cooking, or what? The last thing that would come to mind is an IT convention. You can't really do worse than that, yet that doesn't seem to have hampered its success.
Well, it could be Disaster as a Service, where you break their crap and send them a bill.
So what's holding HCI back? Anything? I know it takes time to break down the defenses of old-school thinking and resisting change. The market is saturated with the likes of Dell and their IPOD, and so things like brand recognition go a long ways before a new player can break into the forefront. I have a feeling that the price point is the only real stumbling block, as the technology seems almost too goo to be true. And that high price point may only be there at a very quick glance, also. I bet that if you look 5 years down the road, the TCO/ROI looks pretty good on HCI as a whole. Also, as mentioned, there is still a very strong case for cloud in many cases.
I know I'm kind of rambling here, but I wonder why we're not seeing more of HCI on the street yet, given its obvious strengths. Am I just not seeing it, or am I right and it's just not taking a big market share yet? If so, what's the big hurdle to overcome?
I used to have a wife that made cookies. I miss her sometimes.

@dafyre said in Cloud Computing vs. Hyperconvergence:
@art_of_shred The setup I got when we went with them for a 4 node setup included the backplane switch and cables.
So a single node would likely be a little less than the "1/3 of the cost of 3 nodes" since a single node doesn't require any of the peripherals.
The T-Rex is cool, but you're talking about apples to oranges here. Open vs closed (w/ AC and heat), and $50k+ vs $7k. One is clearly a summer toy that somewhat replaces a motorcycle, while the other is a sensible yet sporty all-season commuter. Personally (just my own take on it), if I were in a position and geographical location to consider/justify the T-Rex, I would buy an actual roadster and not a dressed-up 3-wheeled bike. Like I said, just my thoughts.
