Can't check on it. The outage has taken out the system that shows it.

RE: Backup MX or no?
Regardless of this project, if your going to host email on site, you should have a backup MX provider.
What do you do when the server fails, or you misconfigure something? Just lose mail? That seems like a bad plan.

Is this the final code? Seems to be?

RE: need program deployment (GPO) suggestion... Not how to but more of a best practice.
What if the leader has a leader computer? - then you don't have to move software, just users

How long before this become like mega upload and rapidshare and gets over taken with illegal software
Seems unlikely. You have to be pretty technical to use something like this.

https://transfer.sh - command like site where you can dump files up to 10 GB then give the link to someone else to download it.
This could almost be used for backup, for example, export your mysql database, and upload it. Now it would have to be smaller then 10GB, and it would only keep 2 weeks of backups, but it many cases this is fine.

Once on Linux or willing to be on Linux, Zimbra seems to be the main competitor. Zimbra is hard to compete with simply because free, open and been around a long time do a lot to get you a lot of ground quickly. But being free, Zimbra has issues getting access to some protocols and libraries that they want to use for push messaging. This is a much harder to compete in space, but appears to be far less of the target audience, but the website made it look like this was where they were aiming.
Is it still true that many of Zimbra's best features are paid for only?

@DustinB3403 Can you setup Exchange in just a couple hours? Can you run Exchange without Active Directory?

RE: Axigen X Released
@scottalanmiller I havn't tried it yes, but I think the product is very interesting.
It supports Windows, great for shops without any Linux people. It's supported, which is a plus.

Also I'd note that this initial thread here is not started by us. We were invited by @aaronstuder. I hoped that this would be a constructive conversation.
I hoped so too, but clearly @scottalanmiller likes to bash a product BEFORE he even tries if for himself. Also, I was hoping that @axigen might be a good vendor for @groovesocial to have, but with @scottalanmiller running people off not sure how that will happen now

Linux with Zimbra is not hosted, so not even in consideration.
How is it not hosted? You can install Zimbra on a linux hosted VM, just like anything else.....

RE: Axigen X Released
@scottalanmiller way to avoid question. Does NTG use Office 365 with Exchange? Is Office 365 with Exchange closed source? Why not just use Linux with Zimbra?
