the remote site is located in the same city Doha, and we have 2 servers in the main office, on DC and File server, the second is an Application server, and some printers, in the remote office we don't have any server, but i'm planing to setup an additional DC in the branch office to minimize the load upon this weak link, and schedule the replication in the night between the 2 DC

in the future we can think about hosting our data (files) in the cloud, but what about Application server, this is the problem we cannot install our application in an outside server in the cloud,

🙂 I coined that term in a discussion panel at SpiceWorld 2009.

honestly i don't know, but i think that the IT company that sold us this application will not accept to install it in an hosted server as far as i can see

Oh, I see. I've never heard of that stipulation in a contract. How do they define hosted? Likely an terminology that would limit hosting would also stop you using a VPN as you are self hosting to another location in that case (to the remote office, you are the hosted application facility.) It would be a bizarre legal stipulation to disallow any enterprise use of the software. Not that that doesn't regularly happen, but it would be seriously bizarre.

No we cannot disclose with this vendor since employees get familiar with the application and also we already bought the licence of multiple users, we cannot cancel anything with them,

Most likely safer than it is now. It depends where you host, of course, just like it depends how well you secure it yourself. But, in general, the big enterprise hosts are the safest places anywhere. Those are the big ones like Amazon, Rackspace, Microsoft Azure, IBM / Softlayer, etc. They are extremely secure. You would get your own OS instance, so you would have full control of the server just as if it were your own.

Good opportunity to practice English being here on MangoLassi! I assume that you normally speak Arabic given that you are from Morocco and live in Qatar?
