Have not had this issue, but most of my clients use the sync client

That would be determined by your setup. By default, it would not. But putting in automated updates into the OS is very common and if you install ownCloud in a recommended way it would update at the same time as your OS.

Bottom line... it depends on several factors that would be unique to your setup.

Updates come from the repo if you did a supported install. So it would come with a yum update. So they are as automated as your yum update method.

When you upgrade, there is generally a script you have to run so you would know if it happened.

So assuming you have not updated, then we go back to the message itself.

It says the private key is gone from the client side and you need to go get it from the server again.

Have you tried that to see if it resolves the issue?

@JaredBusch How would I do that? Users are accessing OC using a browser, not the Windows client.

There is a bug report on this on GitHub: https://github.com/owncloud/core/issues/8328

I only skimmed it, but try resharing the files and see if that recalculates the user list and solves the problem.

There is no option in Personal settings to do this.

                        No, reshare the entire file.

I am not using any apps in my install so I assumed since it said to go there it had a setting there once you added the app.

Are you using an extra app that is not part of ownCloud itself? What is the exact app?

i saw a thread on ML recently indicating OC does not officially support CentOS 7. Could that be the issue?

You did not read the thread then to the end, which is understandable.

That is not a true statement as ownCloud fully supports CentOS 7 and it is their recommended OS.

Good catch, but no. Both Jared and I had a talk with OC corporate today and CentOS 7 is very much supported and the closest thing that they have to an official recommendation. Most of their testing and planning is against CentOS 7, so no issues there. But that did need to be cleared up, you are correct.
