What is your biggest visual marketing challenge?
-
Hi all!
I'm a creative at Continuum and I specialize in providing sweet whitelabeled marketing pieces for IT Providers to send to their clients. I'm wondering what your biggest challenge in visual marketing is for your company, and if you have any ideas for collateral that would be useful for your business that you may not have the resources to produce internally.
Biggest visual/brand marketing challenge, and any sales enablement ideas - GO!

For me the biggest challenges are how to represent abstract concepts like virtualization. The thing that drives me the most crazy is use of stock photos, too. It's gotten to the point that if I see something that looks like a stock image then it instantly makes me think less of that company. I'd rather see a shitty photo of something real than a perfect photo of some supermodel pretending to be an IT person.

@Nic Oh absolutely. It's more genuine to see a real photo with actual employees or equipment, and stock images are pretty easy to peg since often certain models get reused in a number of places. Taking complex technical tools (like virtualization) and making them digestible visually is one of my favorite things to do here!

@emusgrave Do you have some examples of stuff you've done that you can show? I'd be interested in seeing some of the ways you've represented virtualization.
-
@Nic Sure thing! Let me get back to you on that, while we have several infographics on our blog i don't think we've actually tackled virtualization yet. Stay tuned this is exactly what I created this thread for! Great idea!

Cool, looking forward to seeing them. I love a good infographic

What is a "whitelabeled marketing piece"?
-
@MattSpeller that's if you are a reseller of a product and they give you marketing materials that you can put your logo on as an MSP. We do that for Webroot MSPs.
-
@Nic Ah makes sense - thank you

This has been tough for NTG as they try to use pictures of the staff, but I'm often confused with a super model.
