This has been dragging on long enough. If replacing the PC isn't an option, add in a different NIC. If replacing the PC is an option, replace it.
-
I'll be adding in a NIC, then. Unless running it on good 'ol XP is better.

Windows 8.1 doesn't support a driver? Do XP for now. Not a big deal.

Mike Ralston, I dub thee Slade02.

Widnows 8.1 doesn't support it. Windows 7 is supposed to, but doesn't. We know it worked on XP, but we don't have any liscenses for XP. With the support ending soon, will that be an issue?

Ever. http://www.broadcom.com/support/ethernet_nic/downloaddrivers.php Considering they have NDIS drivers for the NICs, it's a safe bet it will work in any version of Windows you throw at it. For [moderated] sake, they have legacy drivers for Windows 95. And the link has RPMs for both RedHat and SuSE.

@scottalanmiller Nope. @PSX_Defector The website and all sources say the driver is supported, but the pregram itself says it isnt when it installs.

Well, we've got a new nic. I'll see if we can't get Windows 7 back on it if that will work well.

 Good luck.
