      Hi all

today, just figured out some of my tape backup ( LTO 4) are different.. some used 1.8:1 ratio, other 1.3:1 , anyone have experience of how to change the compression ratio ( 1.3 to 1.8) , or is it possible to do ?/

it affected my speed of backup ..

      Thanks
      Shyb

The compression ration is totally dependent on your specific data types. Some data, like text files and logs, compresses extremely well. Others, like movies and music, will often not compress at all and actually carry a small risk of expansion! The only way to know usefully how compression will affect your specific data set is to test it.
