It looks like they are looking for a VMWare View admin. I've applied just letting others know if they are interested. I am woefully under qualified according to the job description... so we will see how it goes.
Job Description:
Broad FunctionThe Systems Administrator is responsible for daily maintenance of the Data Center, Servers, Storage Area Network, Data Backups and Server System Support.
Reporting RelationshipsThis position reports to the Assistant Director Computing Services
This position supervises no positionsMajor Responsibilities
Maintain the campus Data Centers, Power, Cooling, physical infrastructure
Monitors data center hardware for operational problems
Administers Storage Area Networks (SANs)
Administers Backups Systems (Actifico)
Administers VMWare virtualization infrastructure
Administers Operating Systems for campus-wide servers.
Performs diagnosis of server related problems (both hardware and software)
Provides technical leadership to Systems Administrator and Desktop Administrator
Maintains data center uninterruptable power supplies
Documents work in ticket tracking software
Review, comments, contributes and authors documentation and projects in the enterprise documentation repository (currently Confluence).
Performs installation of server based software and testing.
Provisions servers for both production and development systems.
Coordinates Quality Assurance testing of software updates and patches.
Manages Certificate infrastructure
Manages Single Sign on technology (ADFS)
Administers Server OS, patches and antivirus (Windows/Linux)
Works in coordination with the Telecommunications-Administrator to determine source of network/server anomalies
Makes purchases of hardware and software as needed to support the responsibilities of the position
Shares responsibility for administering users, groups and computers in Active Directory.Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by a US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization in a computing discipline
5+ years of progressively challenging work experience in a related field
Ability to extract and compile a range of data from written sources, from individuals, from colleagues, from other institutions and vendors.
Ability to read technical literature, write technical documentation and fill out complex forms
Regular skilled use complex machines and systems
Must be able to complete assigned tasks without direct supervision
Must be able to lead, teach and guide staff of lower title classifications
Must be able to seek assistance from peers, supervisors, vendors and alternative sources
Must be able to perform work that requires considerable physical effort with a high degree of fine finger and hand dexterity.
Extensive experience with the MS Windows operating system familyPreferred Qualifications:
Ten years of progressively complex assignments within a medium sized computing environment
Performed the installation of vmWare Clusters
Performed installation and support of vmWare View Horizon.
Experience working with vendors on large procurements
Experience managing Active Directory
Managing service providers and contractors
Generation of detailed reports on resource utilization for supervisors
Relational Databases
Management of Systems Monitoring software
Bachelors Degree (or higher) in Computer Science from accredited institution.
10 or more years experience in computing field
Microsoft Certified System Administrator
vmWare certifications
Hands on experience managing a data centerAdditional Information:
This is 12-month, full-time position.Salary range: $60,000-$65,000 with an excellent Fringe Benefit program included.

10 or more year experience. Wow. With that pay that means they will get someone who isn't very good. 10yr is a freaking lot of experience.

That was what I was thinking. Either they don't really know what they are looking for, or they really don't want someone with even 5 years of experience. That is the lowest I've seen that role (or similar roles) from basically anywhere.
Granted we live in the middle of no where.

Yeah there's a lot of that here as well. Even some HelpDesk Tech jobs will want 8 yrs of experince. Network Admin 10+, Systems Admin 10+. etc.

That is what I would expect most people to get paid in Florida for that position with 10 years experience. Unfortunately many jobs here offer even less than that. The upside is that the cost of living is low and there is no state income tax.

When you earn nothing, income tax is pretty low anyway

Well yeah... $100k a year for a senior position is even rare here
