Of course on the surface this is true, what we don't know is what happens behind the scenes.. is the EU pulling a trump on them and threatening to no do business with them if they don't stay in? who knows?

Calling it the EU is an oversimplification. It's actually the Schengen border zone and the only thing on the table is maybe a discussion of requiring a security check to control the movement of guns between the CH and the Schengen. It's Schengen membership in question, nothing actually involving the EU.

It's common to refer to the Schengen as the EU, but they aren't the same thing. Examples include CH being in the Schengen but not the EU. And the UK being in the EU but not the Schengen.

A handful of worried parents had taken their children to the doctor, complaining that their little ones could not shake off a fever.

Climate change: Global sea level rise could be bigger than expected

Scientists believe that global sea levels could rise far more than predicted, due to accelerating melting in Greenland and Antarctica.

The long-held view has been that the world's seas would rise by a maximum of just under a metre by 2100.

Huawei: ARM memo tells staff to stop working with China’s tech giant

UK-based chip designer ARM has told staff it must suspend business with Huawei, according to internal documents obtained by the BBC.

ARM instructed employees to halt "all active contracts, support entitlements, and any pending engagements” with Huawei and its subsidiaries to comply with a recent US trade clampdown.

There was no general lift. The sanctions are still in place. A handful of isolated, super critical suppliers for certain markets are allowed to keep doing business for ninety days. Essentially all of those are hardware manufactures, not engineering design suppliers. It is unlikely that ARM will be given a pass for ninety days like, say, Micron was given.

ARM is also not a US company and the US isn't likely to lift sanctions to save the Japanese some money. The ninety days was almost certainly because a handful of major US manufacturers were facing epic market crashes if their largest customer was suddenly taken from them.

Virginia Uber driver was Somali war criminal

A US jury has found that a former Uber driver living in Virginia committed acts of torture during Somalia's civil war in the late 1980s.

Somali citizen Farhan Tani Warfaa testified last week in the Washington DC suburbs that ex-Somali colonel Yusuf Abdi Ali shot and tortured him.
