Laptop Pricing - A small rant.

Plus won't watches likely be heavily abused compared to, say, a laptop?
I am sure the lease will be written unfavorably for the customer. People are desperate to get ahold of the watches. People accepting insane terms would not surprise me.

@IRJ Sucker born every minute. I'd believe it, I've seen worse.

It can only be so extreme before people, even dumb people, shell out $350 to just buy one. No matter what, they need a LOT of watches for this to work.

People are dumb when it comes to apple stuff. Now don't get my wrong I like my stuff but jeeze really sheeple here.

You are underestimating the fanboys and the stupidity of the people.

IF you think my "fanboyism" for Android is bad, I don't think you understand that people who are die-hard Mac people are at extreme-cult-level.

I didn't say that. There are stupid android people too.

But fanboys will just shell out the $350. I admit the stupidity of people is stupefying but I feel like this is a case where the cost just isn't high enough and the value of "owning" is too high and too obtainable

Oh I totally agree. But when the newest Galaxy phone comes out, you don't see people literally camping outside the $carrier store. However, new iPhone release? It's tent city outside the Apple store.

Same issue for the watch leasers, they need to be able to get tens of thousands of them to make enough to justify it. By the time that they can get it, getting the watch will be easy for normal consumers. Yeah, you can't get them on day one, but the lease people can't either. Once the initial rush is over, they will be easy to get at your local store. Use a credit card and you take care of most of the benefits of leasing such a small item.

Three months with the Apple MacBook and already noticed that the case is dented. Even though I baby the thing. This is the most fragile computer I've ever experienced.
-
@scottalanmiller I'm sure you have a generous budget for hardware, did you go with Mac to learn it and get more cross platform experience? Can't imagine why you'd take one over a Lenovo X1 or a nice custom Sager etc.

Those things are awful. If you so much as touch it, it gets dented or twisted. No strength at all.

I have a rather large budget in general
Yes, I got it for cross platform experience. However, there is NOTHING that would make me do business with Lenovo. Worst vendor I've ever dealt with. I'd buy Mac in a heartbeat over Lenovo. I'll take whitebox over Lenovo.
-
At this point, literally Lenovo is the very last vendor I'd consider. Both due to how unethical they are AND the ridiculously poor quality of their products.
-
@scottalanmiller burn you once and never again ahy?
The X1 is worth the money, but I just tried to make one with more than 8GB of ram - no love. Back to Sager/Clevo for me.

If it has Lenovo's name on it, it's not worth a penny to me. Lesson learned. That's a horrible company.
Don't know Sager or Clevo. What are those?
In the US, HP and Dell are the key players in the laptop and desktop market along with Apple and Lenovo, and then Asus and Acer on another tier. Samsung is a smaller player in some circles. Sony is out there, but I'd never consider them. Pretty much HP and Dell are the big players.
