with no AUP I cant do nothing.. so dont care.,. please keep those comments to your self.
The point of the comment is that it IS considered spam and Malware by many and your Meraki is very likely blocking it.
Turn off the filtering on the Meraki to prove it.

-Firewall, we don't block anything (not even porn).. most of its default settings. since I cant get a real AUP approved. I will double check. Only know malware sites are blocked and other small thjings, but i usually get a different message.. I will try remove any blocking to see if that helps
-AV, we have none.. Vipre Expired last September with no approval to renew.
-No use proxy. never had time/ nor really cared to re-implement one since I cant even get AUP/etc.Is completely contradicted by this statement.
@smartkid808 said:for Content filtering, only things blocked are "Confirmed SPAM sources", "Malware Sites", "Spam URLs". and "Spyware and Adware"
for security filtering, Malware and Intrusion detection and prevention powered by Sourcefire are enabled. I just disabled them to see if that is the problem,That second statement means you ARE using the Meraki as a passthrough proxy. And additionally you ARE blocking things, which contradicts the fact that you said nothing was blocked.

Seems very likely that the Meraki is part of the issue. Was the Meraki in place when the old issue occurred?
-
This seems to be Meraki-related to me. I registered simply to respond and get feedback. We occasionally have this issue and we use Cisco-Meraki devices. we are able to connect to seemingly-random site using a phone with 4g, but get this error as soon as we get on the LAN.
So far I am in the process of disabling everything (filtering, scanning, IDS, etc) to try to track this down. If you notice a solution feel free to post back (I will be calling Meraki if I cannot get a solution).
Are you by chance running SBS2008?

There's no known issues with the Meraki's that cause that but, I guess it could in some rare setups.
You might try running fiddler when you are getting the errors and see what kind of actual traffic is going on and look into the packets more. http://www.telerik.com/fiddler

Installed, and here is the error I receive:
[Fiddler] The connection to 'mailchimp.com' failed.
Error: TimedOut (0x274c).
System.Net.Sockets.SocketException A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond 205.201.132.123:80I should note that restarting my maraki MX80 solves the issue for about 5 minutes, which is when this error begins happening again.

Sounds like the firewall is either dropping packets or your Internet Modem/Media Converter. You might want to contact Cisco/Meraki.

If you have Meraki and it is working there must be a support contract. They should be able to sort this out for you.

I found this thread by google and I think it needs an update. If you are doing a site to site VPN on over non-Meraki VPN peers or Meraki to Meraki across two organisations because the self config does not work you will get the Missing Template ERR_CONNECT_FAIL if you have under,
Security appliance/ Content filtering - Web search filtering enabled. Disabling this option will re enable port 80 over the VPN.
This seems to only apply to Organization-wide settings and not Meraki Site-to-site VPN on the VPN side. It has also been reported on rear occasions to apply to outside DNS.

Meraki is definitely a device type that needs to be kept very up to date.

@minitrucker007 Thanks for popping in!
-
@minitrucker007 - Thanks! This resolved my issue as well. Don't exactly like that I had to disable this 'feature' in order to resolve this though. I'll contact Meraki to see if there is something else that can be done about this.

@Phenix51 glad to see that it helped someone else!

@Phenix51 Welcome to the MangoLassi community!!

Techie4Life here SAM (SW community member). I actually had the same problem and minitrucker007's solution did work and Meraki still hasn't fixed the issue. I'll try engaging with Meraki and see if they can actually look at this and fix it.
For reference I have a Site-to-Site Meraki-Meraki VPN running and I had Web Search Filtering enabled.

@veggoku Welcome to MangoLassi!! Awesome to see you over here, too!

@scottalanmiller Thanks, funny that I would find you somewhere else online :p.

I had this same issue today. I took a new Meraki MX64 home with me to connect it back to our HQ's ASA 5510 on a site-to-site VPN. Connecting the two was pretty easy, but once the tunnel was up, I ran into the Missing Template error when trying to connect to our corporate intranet site from behind the MX64.
The fix mentioned above worked for me as well (disable Web Search Filtering). Thanks for posting the fix here.
