I'd be interested if it was real PoE/PoE+ not 24v passive PoE. It's only really use full if you have or are going to use the Outdoor AP for a WISP (and the injector isn't included).
Actually we are really interested in it for the internal AP. For our travels, we were actually talking about how nice that would be.

You could look for yourself instead of speculating.. I wasnot in a position to do all the work for you this morning. Just posted because it seems interesting..

I wasn't speculating. It is 24v passive PoE, which I won't use as its not a standard.

I'm asking the same thing.. why are they doing 24 Volt instead of standard POE/POE+?

Because that is what a lot of their gear uses.

Ubiquiti has used the 24V Passive PoE standard forever. This should really not come as a surprise.
Who is going to power everything from a router anyway? That is what your PoE switch is for.
But if you have a single Ubiquiti AP this is the perfect router for you.
-
@JaredBusch they have plenty that runs on standard POE/POE+. That's part of the reason I use the UAP Pros plus that are dual band.
Door p2p I've had to use the 24v but that's the only real place I see this being used is as a WISP provided router. Espically since it doesn't come with the injector to power it.

holy shit, I might have to get one.

That's a pre-order eta is June 2015 if you believe that.
Want to bet $50 on it?
-
@Aaron-Studer That site says available in June.
Definitely do not pre-order.
-
Hm..... Should I try it?

A router that is powered by PoE? Now that is novel.
Passive PoE not standard 48v PoE it's really more useful for WISPs.

That is really the target market for this.

Ordered.
The Seller told me that they have tracking on them, and there coming in tomorrow morning, and he will ship it right out to me, 2 day express
-
So the router has shipping and will be here Friday\Monday.
Anything anyone wants me to test for them?
-
Other than "it works", can't think of much to test. Should be the same as the other EdgeRouters, just a slightly different form factor.
