I'm not sure I agree that Apple has killed the right click. They have never had a true right button but they always have a method of right clicking using either two fingers or a modifier key.
If these changes go on to the macbook pro with dropping thunderbolt and therefor any firewire use, it will leave many video professionals switching platforms. They've already replace the Mac Pro which was an awesome and expandable workstation with a armature hour small mac pro with very little upgrade options.

Yeah this lack of thunderbolt is a big problem for us. I do have the older MacBook Pro so fine for now. But our sound board connects with thunderbolt. We will need to rethink what we upgrade to next year.

Mac is not something you choose if you want to retain investments. Mac is an investment in keeping current with the Mac ecosystem. It's expensive, but it has its own value. But when you choose Mac, you choose an ecosystem where they, not you, determine not only the upgrade schedule and set of technologies to use but the entire ecosystem that you can use.

Yeah but they used to keep the Pro audio/video folks in mind with the Pro Lines. It looks like they are consumerizing the pro line more to get more volume in sales
