February 13th (Friday) - MangoLassi Day!

It is completely coincidental that this is going to happen on a Friday the 13th but we are expecting a huge surge in traffic to hit MangoLassi on this day and it will represent an amazing opportunity for ML to get new users checking out the community and, we hope, joining in on the conversation. On the morning of the 13th, @Minion-Queen is going to be speaking to a large, online conference and will be discussion social media and MangoLassi specifically which, we hope, will drive a lot of people specifically from the Microsoft and MSP communities to come check us out.
So what are we going to do here on the community? We are calling everyone out to put the day on their calendars and to put forth some effort to get on early, watch carefully and post often! We want to see the conversation explode on that day. If you have friends or coworkers that you have been considering inviting, this is the day to get them to come check it out. If ML isn't something that you do every day, please try to do it that day. Our goal is to have, by far, the busiest posting day in ML history.
So mark your calendars, have some fresh posts ready to go (news, questions, ideas, conversation topics, images, funny stories, self promotion, you name it) and participate.

What are we doing to prepare for the 13th?

Leading up to MangoLassi Day we are going to be greatly expanding our computational and memory capacity and doubling our threading to be able to handle much, much more than we are handling today.

We will be moving to the updated NodeBB code base.

We are going to request the NodeBB developers be around to see how the site is doing.

We are looking into adding a Redis layer to accelerate Socket.io and session handling to take a load off our main MongoDB datastore.

This will also be a huge day for attracting vendors so if you have a vendor or two that is not in MangoLassi but you think that they should be, please reach out to them and ask them to get an account set up and be posting before and, most importantly, on Friday the 13th. Get the date onto everyone's calendars. We want this to be a really epic day. Maybe get some vendors to make some product announcements too!!

Some awesome goals to consider.... if everyone could get one person to join the community and participate on that day, that would be amazing. Hopefully they all decide to stay because this place is so much fun!
Also, if we can get anyone new shown how Gravatar works as people with avatars get a better response and the community looks more cohesive.
If we need a how-to on that, let me know.

Should be a lot of fun too, so much activity that we can't keep up at all. That would be awesome. We get tons and tons of views now, but getting a lot of posting activity would be amazing.

Of the posts as they happen? No, sadly the platform doesn't support that. We have been asking the NodeBB developers to get that for us in some configurable way. We are hoping that one or two or even three of the NodeBB guys will be here on the 13th participating so maybe that would be a time to talk to them here, rather than tracking them down on their own forum.
I was speaking with them just this morning about the management of a high volume community as we are, we are pretty sure, in the top two largest and busiest communities on their platform.

Getting Microsoft and MSP's to come visit once is pretty cool, but there's almost no content here for those people. There's ZERO Enterprise level content from a Microsoft basis. Frankly I get a bit of a anti-Microsoft vibe here. How do you plan on getting these people to do more then a single visit, look at a few posts and never come back?

Hopefully getting them here will help to create some content. That's what we struggle with most - getting people to ask questions. There are lots of people here to answer questions, but almost no one asking any. The lack of Microsoft content is from the lack of Microsoft questions.
However the group coming are not Microsoft enterprise people, mostly, they are MSPs. So it is the MSP aspects that will be the biggest commonality, I suspect, which is on average far less enterprise and more SMB and SME.

If you have any ideas of how to get more content here, especially Microsoft content, that would be lovely.
