i in iPhone, iPad, etc

Might not be Internet since the first ones were not Internet devices. It was just a naming trend of the time period. I and e were used in front of everything.
-
It is internet. Confirmed here:

That's what the i was being used for everywhere then. But the iPod, not on the Internet, was the first thing with an i in it, right? So what the purpose of the i to mislead people?
-
the i probably had more to keeping a singular branding message than to actually mean internet for the iPod - but really, the iPod did require the internet (more or less) because iTunes was designed around internet based music delivery (yes I know you could rip CDs back then).
-
I guess it was. Forgot about iTunes.

@ajstringham Apple was pretty big on using the word "Innovation" during the late 90's in advertising.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Apple_Inc._slogans#i_for_innovation
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Apple_Inc._slogans#iMac**"iThink, therefore iMac." **(1998) based on Renรฉ Descartes famous line, "I think, therefore I am" (Cogito ergo sum).
-
I'm surprised the letter 'c' hasn't been used more to represent "The Cloud". The letter 'e' was everywhere ten years ago. Oracle used the letter 'g' for grid for a while when they were marketing "Grid Computing" as the new, new thing, do they still do that?
Ultimately, these things are dreamt up by marketing types and mean absolutely nothing.
-
I'm wondering why they ditched it for the new products - Apple Pay and Apple Watch instead of iPay and iWatch.
-
Ok, thanks guys! Now I know!

Did anyone have the old iMac/iPods? I had the lime green CRT iMac I used to play some serious StarCraft on.

I've been busy. Started a new job at McAfee of all places. Still in training, so there is that. It's been slow though, so plenty of time so far to post on ML, etc.

Yeah, they have a TON of other non-AV products. They all are security products of one kind or another, but not solely AV. The one I'll be supporting first is called MVM, or McAfee Vulnerability Manager. It's a network scanner that allows you to find issues in your environment. Cool in theory. We'll see how it works when I get going.

Sounds like bad PR right there... I'd be careful.

What do you mean? All I said is we'll see how I like it when I get a chance to play with it. That's all.
