Solved HPE c7000 & Virtual Connect FlexFabric Unlinked
-
In a networking status message like this, it seems like the most likely issue is that the network cable is not properly plugged in? I'm working on this system remotely and the guy physically working on it has really struggled to figure out what to do with the hardware, so I'd not be surprised if it wasn't plugged in properly anywhere. I just want to make sure that I'm not crazy and missing something obvious on my side. But X5 is showing "Unavailable" in its Status above, and Unlinked in the one below.
Do I need to do something in the HPE Virtual Connect Manager to get this to "link"? It's very hard to tell as it can take a few minutes to open any given menu item on this terrible device. The c7000 is truly garbage. Anyone have any ideas?

Issue was fixed. Enclosure back plane was bad. A new C7000 had to be purchased and swapped out and it worked right away.
-
Moved the SFP+ to X1 and got "Unsupported", which makes no sense as it is a 10GigE connector that is allowed for that port and is, in fact, the only hardware for that purpose!

I'm having it moved to X7 now. Not sure what else to try. Everything takes so long to test on this ancient hardware.

After moving to X7, it is back to "Not Linked" again. Progress, I guess.

Could easily be a firmware issue. Because this is all mismatched, used gear, firmware is all over the place.

Updating the OA firmware now.
