      It's their use of the made up term "span" that is causing all kinds of confusion.

          So we were never really using RAID 10? Sounds like if someone loses their data they could be in for some kind of legal suit.

            Trying to really get confirmation. The old belief was that it was RAID 100 which is mathematically just as safe as RAID 10. But we don't know for sure yet.

              I had someone tell me that before but the Perc stated it was 10.

                @technobabble I think we safely know it isn't 10. Dell refuses to commit to it being 10. They skirt the question every time. They've confirmed that at least one if their vendors mislabels it.

                  So does that mean no manufacturer is really supporting RAID 10?

                    @thecreativeone91 don't know. But only Dell and LSI have the red flag "spans" thing going on which has no context in true RAID 10.
