No commands should be needed. Just update the ER-L firmware, then use the Wizard for nearly all cases.

Doesn't really matter. But just use the defaults.

connect to the ERL via console port or their defualt IP scheme.

upload the current firmware to it.

                  reboot

                  Run the setup wizard.

                  reboot.

eth0 should be your WAN and eth1 will be your LAN.

What is the bridge for? You are already routing, do you need a bridge additionally?

This is done by the Wizard. if he followed instruction.

The others existed prior to the "Basic" existing.

Define what you mean by Layer 3 IP, as you have it on a line by itself there so I have no idea what you are referencing.

But yes, your WAN is eth0, LAN is eth1. If you expand the view on LAN there you can setup the IP and subnet to match your existing LAN networking.

                                          LINK IP ADDRESS. X.X.X.240/30
                                          LAYER 3 IP X.X.X.242

                                          THEN I HAVE LAN BLOCK
                                          USABLE IP BLOCK X.X.X.X./27
                                          USABBLE RANGE X.X.X.X-X.X.X.X.
                                          USABLE SUBMET MASK X.X.X.224

IF I CONFIGURE ETH0 AS WAN HOW DO I GET BACK INTO THE ROUTER , I WANT TO HAVE DHCP ON ETH1 10.0.0.1

Also, I think I see what you mean about bridging. It is in the basic wizard.

                                            Do not do it.

                                            Ever.
