Office 365/Read Receipt/iPhone

Hey Folks,
I have previously setup a rule in Office 365 to remove 'Disposition-Notification-To' header on all emails for one director.
With the Outlook desktop client you get the option to send the read response or not. Mobiles just respond without asking - hence the need for creating this rule...
The rule has been working for around 1 year, no issues at all. Now, the director has upgraded to iOS 11 from iOS 10, the same rule is still in place, but read receipts are now automatically being sent by the iPhone as emails are opened. Previously, it worked.
Has anybody else seen this? Looking at the email properties I can see that the header 'Disposition-Notification-To' has been removed correctly, yet the response is still sent.
Has anybody seen this? Any ideas?

JimAre you using the Outlook app on mobile or the Mail app included with the mobile OS?

Strangely, i'm getting read receipts from the iPhone, even when the original message doesn't have 'request read receipt' selected...
I don't use iPhone, does iOS 11 have any setting that just send a 'read' receipt anyway?

Yes in the Outlook iOS app, unless you are using the Mail app built in to iOS
I'm using the default mail app, specifically the exchange option within the default mail app.

I'm using the default mail app, specifically the exchange option within the default mail app.
Gotcha, the Outlook app has an option to disable automatic replies. It's come so far that I use it to check G suite email.
I don't see any option under mail app.

Could it be linked to any iMessage type settings? I understand iMessage sends 'read', so perhaps that controls automatically sending 'read' in the default app too? I'm seeing read receipts being sent, even when not requested by the original sender...

Definitely not in iMessage settings. I only have a 365 exchange account but it doesn't give those options anywhere in mail app.
Outlook app a non starter?

Currently, yes. Will try that with the director in a little while, but, would be great to use the default app.
In iOS 10, this was all good. But 11, nope. -

In iOS 10, this was all good. But 11, nope.About 2 years ago the outlook app become way better than the iOS mail app and it continues to get better, while mail app and other Apple stuff has gotten progressively worst.
You can actually delete the mail app now, where it used to be part of the OS.

I too use the Outlook app - it's very usable. I definitely like it better than the all the separate apps with icons all over the place!
The biggest pain is contacts syncing into the phone contact list - but no painful enough for me to solve it yet. -
