Love that you can self host it 🙂

It says that selfhosting is in beta. Have you tried it yet?

That looks nice. I use Dashlane and I love the features it has. I will have to test Bitwarden to see how it compares though. Good find

I use Dashlane as well. It is a little pricey, but for as often as I enter passwords I like it.

          Interesting...

What is it.. I don't generally like to click links that don't have any context with them. Some background on what it is would be nice so that I have some idea that:

          • not click bait
          • not malware
          • what function(s) it does.

Because when I see "Wow this looks really good" I think of:

It's a password management tool that is working toward a self hosting option. Completely open source. It looks like it could be good.

              Thanks -

Yes, that could very well be interesting. Could very easily give LastPass a run

                https://bitwarden.com/

But this was solved along time ago.

There is password app in nextcloud, that works:

                https://camo.githubusercontent.com/3d500579f437988c4d41ecaab8b19b1698efa99c/687474703a2f2f692e696d6775722e636f6d2f49776d336855652e706e67

Also Keepass can support remote DB, and with plugin it adds support of many protocols (SSH/WebDav/SFTP)

And if you would tell me to run docker just for this, or lamp stack for next cloud. I would choose lamp stack for next cloud, and get many other apps like KanBan Tool/tasks app/notes app/video talking app/ all the new apps that are still under dev.

And that is forgetting the file sharing part.

Is the app just for generating passwords or does it store them as well?

                      @irj

Actually there are 2 apps, both store and generate:

                      https://github.com/nextcloud/passman
                      https://github.com/jhass/nextcloud-keeweb

                      And full featured.

I'm currently using KeePass + NextCloud. I'm going to try this out, I think.

Their instructions are simple to follow if you want to go the self-hosted route.

                          Works perfectly from Fedora 26.

                          dnf install docker docker-compose

and then follow their guide here:

                          https://help.bitwarden.com/article/install-on-premise/

Password sharing and such are paid features.

Inporting my LastPass data was simple. I am sure Dashlane would be as well. I ❤ open source software.

I've got to say this is much faster then Lastpass. Using the Chrome extension or the Android client is very quick. I never realized how slow Lastpass was.

I'm going to try it out for a week and if I continue to like it I'll probably throw them some money.

It's compatible with Firefox 57 unlike LastPass.

Yeah, I'm annoyed that LP hasn't been updated for Firefox yet.

I'm going to use the Self-hosted option for a little bit longer. It doesn't seem to have an Import feature for KeePass, but I can live with that since It's not like I have 10,000 things to import, lol.
