2017 and Python and Java Lead the Language Pack

The IEEE's report is out and they peg Python as the top language of programmers today and Java as the most sought after language, mostly mirroring other major language surveys. With little doubt, the top languages across the board are Python, Java, JavaScript and C. This is surprising in some ways, but each language has its own niche and the four represent the bulk of the major programming slices of the big pie so that the big four are each pretty unique and have relatively little overlap between them is not all that surprising.
