Works on Firefox here, only real issue that I see is the naming thing. The "new note" creation is a little funky and the page stays white, but you can enter a note there. I do which that markdown was added or something so that it was more than just simple text, though.

I wnt into files and edited the text of 'New Note' to contain "Note 1" and i renamed it to "Note A"

When I go back to notes, I see Note 1. but for a brief moment it showed Note A. So i assume it is showing the beginning of the note overriding the name.

So that is a repeatable problem then. And having to go to the storage area to rename it, rather than being able to name it in the Notes app seems odd. It makes way more sense to name it directly in the Notes app. But there is no button for that.

            @scottalanmiller even better.. look,

From the notes section (not files)
I edited new note 3 to contain note 3 text and the name went back to new note.
i edited new note 2 to contain note 2 text and the name went to new note.

then I force reloaded the page (cmd+R on my macbook)

Are you guys using this in production or just testing it out? This thread reminds me of the horrible experience we had switching from dropbox to egnyte.

Also it looks like its free and open source, is the enterprise pricing just a support bundle or does it add functionality?

The videos and marketing are all over the place. Private dropbox + video/chat conferencing??

I have been using ownCloud in productions for years. Nextcloud is a fork of ownCloud when the founder left ownCloud to form Nextcloud.
The not full FOSS was part of the reason for the fork. With Nextcloud, all features are supposed to be FOSS and pricing is for support.

Nextcloud is private DropBox. The video/chat is from integration with Spreed.me. Spreed.me was partially responsible for funding or something. Not 100% on that and do not care to implement that functionality anyway.

I put my first Nextcloud instance into full production last week.

@JaredBusch Ah, nice. Thanks for clearing up.

I remember owncloud, are you just running it off a virtual server in the cloud then?

Do they have the mobile apps like owncloud?

Now I have something to do all day tomorrow...

And so its just this "notes app" that is buggy, back to the original thread...

Yes, this is not a core feature. It is an app you have to enable.

                                NextCloud 11 in production.

The product is 100% free and open source. Enterprise is just support.

@JaredBusch I noticed in my activity feed on NC11 that it claims that I renamed the file back to New Note. It's one thing to have the bug, but another to accuse me of being the one that renamed it! 😉

@scottalanmiller certainly sounds like a bug, yeah. I never really used the app myself so I can't speak for it but I would suggest to file an issue 😉

We just had the NC Notes totally blow away a document of data from this "rollback" mechanism that seems to be there. Sadly, it's not safe to use. So uninstalling the app. Too dangerous to try to use. Too bad, it had a lot of promise. But keeping the data safe is kind of fundamental.

So post on the developers github or wherever. Do not bitch here and not report. It would never be fixed if no one reports it.
