It goes back to the store. That's the step I would have taken.

Lol, yeah, that was my thought too Bill. I don't know that I would have done any troubleshooting at all on a brand new machine that should be working perfectly straight out of the box. I get indignant when new things don't work as they should!

Could you hear the hard drive spinning when you powered it on, or was it a SSD? I might have plugged in an external monitor to make sure it wasn't a screen issue and tried new RAM if available, but other than that, no ideas. Annoying that you now have to wait for them to send you a new one.

What I do is place it in my hand and power it on. That way I can feel any anomalies in the hardware.
Tried the external monitor, nothing 🙂

Return shipping box will be here in the morning, just curious if anyone had any sort of troubleshooting ideas beyond what was listed. In case the laptop isn't new!

RMA it. The benefit of someone like Lenovo is that you should have a new one tomorrow.

I dont do any troubleshooting on a PC that is less than 14 days old. Especially when it comes bad out of the box. That is the vendor's problem

Not to echo to closely to everyone but I would also just request an RMA.

If you have that much IT resources into a brand new laptop it sounds like a money sink. A sign of things to come? Time is money friend!

You covered what I would of, and more! Can't fault you for that.

                        DOA. Sucks, but it happens.
