So when I purchased Webroot EP in August of last year, I bought the minimum five, although I only needed 3 at the time. After over seven months, I finally used a fourth (for the second DC I'm setting up now...see this thread: http://mangolassi.it/topic/4218/dns-settings-for-domain-controllers). I wish there was a way that you could get less than 5 of the business-level EP. I know my situation is not super common, but there's gotta be other IT guys who want business level protection at home and don't need a full five licenses...or if the EP could also include Android/iOS phones in this kind of case, that'd be awesome. Just a thought. This is mostly for @Nic.

      Thanks!
      A.J.

Yeah I'm not sure why the minimum is 5 for business, but I'll pass along the feedback.

If you have that few devices to protect I think they expect the SOHO folks to just go with a consumer license.

Yeah, but I like getting experience with the business product so I can demo it/recommend it to companies, etc. I can say it's from firsthand experience, not what I've seen on a webinar or heard from a sales rep. There should be an IT Pro demo pack you can get in the EP business-level stuff. Is that something you think Webroot might consider?

Yeah that might be a good idea. We do have some demos of the business console that you can use in the meantime:

Yeah, but it's not the same as deploying it in your own environment...

Agreed - nothing like having real data to play with.

My opinion, for what it is worth, is that a minimum pack of three is more sensible. Call it the "Pro Pack" or something 🙂

                    Totally agree with this.

Or keep it as five but allow it to be for either computers or mobile, so that people can utilize all five more easily.

So I asked one of the guys here, and he told me that 5 user limit is just for our online store. If you want to call in, or go through a distributor or VAR, you can buy just one license or however much you like.

it would be nice if Companies gave discounts to IT Pros doing IT at home. Granted even MS doing away with technet. but I found out since I still have a .edu email I can actually get Microsoft products free through dreamspark.

The license I used for my Datacenter license was Dreamspark.

Hmm, do your VARs/Resellers know that? I've worked with one in the past who said 5 was the minimum license number.

Hm, if they don't then I guess call us direct. They might not know that they can sell singles.

Call 1-800-870-8102 and ask for Amos - he's the guy who deals with sales of 100 licences or fewer.

Is that a VAR? Also, does he have an email? I hate dealing with stuff over the phone...

Sweet. I emailed him about renewal, so I could gather info, and so his email would be saved in my Gmail...LOL
