Not that part obviously but the fact it was gerbils...and that people are still looking into this cause...shrugs
People are still doing a LOT of research on it. There is a lot of fear of it happening again. Just in the last decade they identified anthrax, not bubonic plague, as the main killer. "In the Wake of the Plague" is an awesome treatise on the known state of the Black Death research.
