OpenVPN client behind auth proxy

Just setup an openvpn server on Vultr.

Trying to bulldoze my way through connecting to it from behind this clients auth proxy.

Everything i've read says you need to edit the client ovpn config file and add a username & password for the client to supply to the proxy.

But I cannot find any config files! The OpenVPN client is v2.7.1.101 and it all lives in c:\program filesx86\open vpn technolgies.

I've tested the client when hotspotted to my phone and it works straight away so the problem is the proxy auth.
