Laptop trying to factory reset itself

@kamidon right! Seriously though, I'm running sfc/scannow to see if it will show anything
That and what Scotth said as well. dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth and Chkdsk /r
Best to do Chkdsk last...that one is always risky...Roll the die one way and it'll slaughter your OS and then of course sometimes it'll fix your issue.
Don't recall if DISM has ever fixed anything for me, but it's worth trying. -

It's giving me system recovery or checkup options. I'll run the checkup but at this point I'll put Fedora on it. #FUWindows
Windows: "But muh vidya games!"
Linux: Proton B!tch3s!!!
Apparently I'm behind the times.
So I take it this Proton replaced Wine? -

So I take it this Proton replaced Wine?Got announced like a year ago almost. Steam was fed up with microsoft and dedicated some crazy amount of resources to write compatibility layers for things like DirectX that were always the "lock in" of Windows. Proton is doing some amazing stuff.
I've got games running on it already.

Here's another thing that helps sort out the issues. This command examines the cbs.log and dumps the results in a text file.
findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log >sfcdetails.txt
Google the entries and address the issues one at a time.
