Low HDL Cholestrol :(
-
I have those same symptoms - and I take about 6-8000 IU a day of Vit D (in a pill).
Damn you guys are going to make me call my doctor for a copy of my last blood work.
-
I rarely go to the doctor and have not had blood work in a few years. My fiance was going through my old medical results from a Health insurance exam and she said all my labs looked great. I chuckled as I don't do much health wise (don't eat bad but not good, drink and smoke and don't exercise) but am apparently fit as a fiddle.

@Emad-R said in Low HDL Cholestrol :
Low HDL is related to vitamin D
I wouldn't assume, I'd test specifically for vitamin D levels to make sure. It could be that, or it could be that plus other things on top of it. However, vitamin D is required and low levels help cause all kinds of problems, big and minor.
Here's where I'd give some great dietary, exercise, and sleep advice, backed by actual science and studies (not random articles from a random career journalist in it for the clicks), but I've been getting a lot of negative feedback for it lately, so I'm going to stop with it on here. However, you can search for my prior posts like this one.

My Vitamin D last test was 30 which is low, taking pills for it, my doctor suggested 50.000 IU weekly.
I dont know I feel like there is something I am missing, I like the red red Wine advice, but in my area it is frowned upon to drink
weird. But the keypoint is eat FISH and exercise and sun

Here is my last HDL and LDL results
I miss remembered.. HDL was low, but LDL was fine.
Again, they suggested I drink one 6 ounce glass of red wine daily. It will drive the HDL up, and the LDL down according to the doc.

Your doctor made a suggestion of taking a lot of Vitamin D supplementation.
I'm just an IT guy, but I disagree with your doctor and here's why:

Why would sun matter if you don't think he should get more Vit D, or at least shouldn't get more from supplements?

I'll clarify what I meant by my post:
His Vitamin D levels are low. His doctor tells him to take high Vitamin D supplementation. I disagree with this, and think he should instead get his Vitamin D from the sun (which actually doesn't take long if you read the articles and studies), as well as eat healthy, exercise, and sleep well.

@Obsolesce said in Low HDL Cholestrol :
xercise, and sleep well.
Yeah I agree I dont think it is right to take that much amount to be honest.
I will try to get it from outside, but the weather for the last 2-3 months was aweful, very cold and I cant stand the cold anymore, I get extra cold other than anyone else. -

Yeah. I suppose. Working on changing patterns as luck will always run out.

Dude your more screwed than I, with 4.7 ratio, I am 4.3
You need to worry about Raising HDL and not lowering LDL. LDL is good to have in normal amount.
Consume olive oil. Extra virgin olive oil may be more healthful than processed olive oils. ...
Follow a low-carb or ketogenic diet. ...
Exercise regularly. ...
Stop smoking. ...
Lose weight. ...
Eat fatty fish often.
Avoid artificial trans fats -

Sweatshirts up to 75. I will take 110 in Vegas and even in TX or Mexico all day long. I love laughing at my friends when they complain of heat.

The clouds if I remember correctly halve the UV energy (I need to re-verify this, but I think it's roughly accurate) that reaches your skin.
Perhaps much much smaller amounts of supplementation could help during those days. I believe it would be better than absolutely nothing at all.

This of course assumes he has a normal skin response. Also some people just donβt have time to spend say 30 mins daily outside in the noon sun.
Iβm sure there are many other benefits to being in the sun other that Vit D, but the time can be a real issue. I know right now Iβm not going to with it being 15 or lower all week

LOL. My apologies. (In Celsius) Sweatshirt to 23.8, 43.3 in Vegas, Texas (higher humidity) or 38.3 in Mexico with humidity. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
Used Google converter.

Oh also I forgot to tell you , i did wet cupping or hijamah recently, to improve blood cirulation
I understand it can freak ppl out, but I thought what the hell I want to try everything, the idea is that apparently we have filters or blood accumulation in the back, large of them, and donating blood helps and does similar effects but what this does is make them clot, and try to capture as much as possible toxin bloods , i liked it, the person and center was very clean and it is kinda in our tradition and religion. I heard Michael Phelps does the dry verison.
-
@Emad-R I often see UFC fighters with cupping marks on them when they get into the ring.
