      Hey guys...
I gotta say... this space is awesome... like a breath of fresh air.

Now... I love the NoteBB... but I would love to see how it's used (if it could be used) for an internal wiki/forum/etc. I currently have 2 instances of Sharepoint and a few other apps floating around being used...

Could I use this to unify it all? (And hopefully scrap Sharepoint?)

      Thanks!

That's an interesting thought. I think that it would be extremely hard to use it as a Sharepoint replacement unless you were only using SP in some extremely specific ways. NodeBB is pretty cool and you can customize some things and enable it to store files but it is not really what it is build around. You could use it as a kind of Intranet solution and it is pretty easy to run and it scales really well, but it lacks a wiki, document versioning and other key elements that you expect in a Sharepoint-like solution.

I suppose if you locked down specific groups that you could use them as documentation because you can add images and make it so that only certain people can edit.

That is a cool idea. It would be neat to work somewhere with a forum like this for internal discussions. I could see that being very useful to a business.

I think most places use Yammer or Sharepoint for this kind of thing. Although, I can tell you that Epicor (popular ERP system) recently has integrated a social piece to their product.

I've seen places talk about using WordPress. It is a little more structured than NodeBB, but not as fast. NodeBB is screaming fast. But the lack of structure that is meant for a forum is a bit rough for corporate data that needs to be located over and over again. The search feature is fast, though.

Well, you know what the dirt racers say... fast is loose!
