I've been to that trail a few times. It's a phenomenally well maintained stretch. You have to pay for a special pass ($100 for a weekend) but it's well worth it.

I've actually stayed on that beach in the picture there. Right where those kids are my oldest got swept out by a surprise bit of surf. She was playing in the sand and the water just grabbed her. Luckily I was in the water and caught her as it pulled her out.
