I think that is what my boss hopes.

I have a Macbook pro now in my possession so the learning starts tomorrow with the Yosemite update. I have an iPad and iPhone (provided by my day job) but have only used OSX a little here and there. Now the real learning begins.

I have a MacBook that I have had since January . I am still learning as I only use it when I travel not really part of my everyday usage.

I am looking at moving my company (GroveSocial) over to Mac so will be interested to see what you think once you really dive in.

Is it Danelle who's asking/telling you to learn OS X?

I will be going through the process of getting my OS X certs and then going after my ACMT. That way we can become a fully certified repair shop.

I would like to know more about this. Yearly, I have checked this page: and found that both Resellers and Services Provider programs have this: "Apple is not currently accepting reseller or service provider applications. Please check the Apple Channel Programs page periodically for new information."

I plan to get a Mac this year. I have one but it is ancient at this point. I need something new(er) that will run Yosemite.

We aren't expecting to get reseller or even any referrals from them. Just being able to offer this to our current and possible client base.

@TechieChick so having the cert is all you need to work on Macs. I thought you had to join the Apple Channel program as an Apple Service Provider.

Bah...time to work on getting my certs too.I am tired of sending users to the Apple store.

I doubt that that alone allows you to do warranty repairs. That's something different.

We won't be fixing them unless they are out of warranty. Apple takes their warranty support very seriously. This is so we/I can learn how to support, troubleshoot them on the user side of things. But knowing how to troubleshoot even a warranty covered item will help the client know what they need and able to get the support they need from Apple Care much faster.
