Wazuh on Hyper-V: note to self.
-
After downloading the .ovf file, extracting the vmdk, and converting the vmdk to a vhd or vhdx. When creating a virtual machine for it in Hyper-V, a Generation 2 will not work, you must use a Generation 1 when creating the VM.
-
And it's booting, but into recovery/safe mode. Looks like I'll have to do a manual install for Hyper-V
-
May I ask what Wazah is?
-
Do you mean Wazuh?
-
-
Yep, Wazuh, I'm going to change the topic.

I had this problem friday when using SmartDeploy. It won't use generation 2, only generation 1. I have to redo everything now

Yeah, and mine still wouldn't start properly. I'd love to get your config if you get it working!

Have you considered running it in a Docker container? That might help negate some of your problems.

They have a docker container for it? That'd solve a lot of problems, assuming it works (don't get me started on the non-working instructions for most docker containers.)

Woohoo, going to get this done today.
