Florida Highway Patrol chases down Miami Cop at 120mph

Why such an old story? The incident happened in 2011 and the story was finally published in 2014. Last I noticed, my calendar said 2017.
-
Sadly... this is the latest on this story.

That is sad. I mean I get they couldn't bust the "bad cops" for sending pizza and stuff for lack of evidence... But the five guys who looked up her info should have been fired after they kept digging and accessed info like her SSN and such. That's just me though... They were reprimanded but not punished according to the article.

I'm with you there. One time I can understand (although I don't agree with it) but this said multiple times.

Because I just heard about it, and really the timeframe is irrelevant to the news story. It's not like an IT article from 2011.

@coliver I firmly believe that the vast majority of cops are law abiding. It just takes a very small fraction though of bad cops to ruin it for the good cops.

That's true for about any legitimate profession.

Same for most of society, I'm sure.

I don't doubt that. But, not to get too political, the big issue we have in the US is that the police see themselves as a brotherhood so many of those "bad" cops are protected by the "good" cops.

@scottalanmiller When I was a prison guard honestly only about 15% of the inmates were what I called knuckleheads. The rest honestly didn't cause much of a problem.

And we might be able to assume that the percentage of good prisoners is lower than the percentage of good general population. Although... that might be going out on a limb.

It's when the minority screams the loudest, making the headlines... where the media projects prejudice and stereotyping. That's why it only takes a few to ruin it for good majority. And you can insert that statement into anything... professions, politics, religion, race, anything.
